Bafang BBS powered machine-crossbow

Ever heard of a German guy called Joerg Sprave? No?
He builds muscle-powered weaponry.
Boring?
Well, check out his latest creation, where he uses a Bafang BBS02 to build a machine-crossbow that literally rains arrows.

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

I am working in it to get the brake cabel which are compatible with the yellow higo plugs. I will inform you asap it is available. Are there more people around here who want to have this cable? Let me know if you have a source for that ebrake cable that plugs into port #2? I’d be interested in one....

Re: Need Help With Stuck Higo Connectors

Take a small, blunt flat bade screwdriver, like a small watchmakers one, and carefully insert it between the outer soft black plastic and the harder inner plastic of the connection. It helps a lot if you: preheat the joint with a hairdryer apply some soapy water before and whilst inserting the screw...

Re: New HIGO and JULET connectors

Too expensive? OK, lets go a little deeper here. As an example, lets take the HIGO Mini-B Series connector HIGO-B2-B , a common 2-pole female connector. The retail net price for this item is EUR 3,36 - or USD 3,76 (at the current exchange rate of 1 EUR = 1,12 USD). So if USD 3,76 is 'too expensive',...

Re: 2WD (Two-Wheel Drive) FAQ

Hi all, I've been riding my AWD Surly Ice Cream Truck now for about 3 years. It basically has 2 12T MACs, each having a 40A Controller with one common shunt, one CA3, one thrigger (for motor speed, similar to a throttle) and one poti (for motor torque). 48 V and limited to 50A. Total weight is about...

You would need a NO (normally open) or closer type switch (it will pull down the brake signal to GND when activated).
So, this one? https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mag ... prod156181
Yep. The contact closes when you pull the lever.

Re: Best solder for shortening cables? (PAS, Motor etc)

For signal wires 0.14mm² and 0.2mm² I would use 40/60 leaded electronics solder 0.7mm diameter.
Even with these small signal wire diameters, I use a medium sized soldering tip that I clean with metal wool.

Here some instructions on how to join a signal cable.

Re: Where are the hq geared hub motors?

I've been rebuilding 2 MACs for my AWD Fatty . Standard Stator and runner, standard gears (but greased with Aeroshell), and with a beefy clutch (up to 170Nm). It has a side entry motor cable and internal gear & temp sensor. Heavy duty use, so far no problem. Been tinkering with the idea of a 2-speed...

Re: How to make EVERYTHING truly waterproof

Regarding the CA, it seems almost impossible to gather and route somehow the short JST cables into a sealed box. Also, there is just no space on the handlebar of a bike for doing that. The solution must be service-able one, in case any debugging/connector replacing is necessary. If your solutions a...

The seal lip is running on that bush. And you probably have to install a complete new wire to get your problem fixed.

Hi all, I keep getting enquiries as to when I release a CA3-Phaserunner combo with HIGO connectors on the phaserunner and a plug&play set of cables for the BBSHD. The idea was to get some 'raw' phaserunners from Justin, wire it up with HIGOs and then encase it in epoxy. Justin so far is happy to sup...

I wish pressing Bafang worked. The BBS02B landed on Luna shelves without any notification of a change. It took a couple of years and another reseller in China to get a decent part supply chain. The CA3 with Higos is on his website. The CA3-HIGO is more or less the standard CA3-DP/DPS upgrade. It is NOT suitable for use with BBSx controllers. With an adapter (HIGO to JST) you can use a CA3-HIGO with the Phaserunner. A full CA3/Phaserunner set (including plug and play harness) will be avail...

Re: 2018 Torque Arm Tests, Splined Interface Design and Tabbed Washers

I don't understand the "no axle channel" part . Gotta get the wires in there somehow. At some point, all hub motors have an axle channel. Usually it is after the bearings behind the side covers. They dont' *have* to have an axle channel--that's what I was talking about before. If the bearing's ID i...
