Re: Fechter's Mini Meanwell Limiter V.3

The additional parts will add less than $1 to the parts cost. To install, it is necessary to attach a jumper wire from the OVP pad on the limiter board to the OVP point on the supply. On most of the common Meanwells, this is the end of the resistor behind the green LED. https://endless-sphere.com/f...

Re: Stinging nettles beer?

The nettles beer was undrinkable. Foul, bitter, vinegar tasting.

The hickory beer was very good. I liked that a lot.

But now is cider time. Have 15 gallons of cider and 5 gallons of perry fermenting. Another 10 bushels of apples awaiting pressing. :)

Re: Stinging nettles beer?

I just put up a batch of nettle beer. Smells a lot like spinach. Hope it smells better when it's done. Added a little baked hickory bark to add a smokey flavor, and a little hyssop for a slight mint flavor. The OG was a lot lower than when I do a beer kit, not sure if I screwed something up or if th...

Re: Stinging nettles beer?

The tea was very interesting and different. Smokey and woody flavor.

Making another batch with some nuts in the mix to add the sweeter, maple flavor.

Re: Stinging nettles beer?

I got sidetracked by shagbark hickory. I read you can make syrup from hickory bark. I thought if you can make syrup, not a stretch to make beer. Making the tea right now. Seems like it could be a really good flavor for a beer, little smokey, little maple flavor

Re: Stinging nettles beer?

Looks like it turns brown when you boil the leaves . The sting is gone after you boil. It would be very nasty if it didn't :?

Stinging nettles beer?

Anyone ever made stinging nettles beer?

Basically sounds like boil nettle leave to make a tea, then add sugar and ferment.

I have lots of nettles in the yard, was wondering if it would be worth trying?

Re: Finally bought one

I had heard something good like that. I paid 8k. Only 14th miles. Seemed like a pretty good deal. Very happy with the car so far. It's range is very different at 25 degrees for than at 35 degrees f. Some thing to do with battery heating. I would probably like the orange and black. It seems like fewe...

Re: RO Systems...WTB - advice?

You have to give it pressure from the plumbing side for it to work, i recommend finding a thread-on coupler for your existing faucet or garden hose line ... instead of using their piercing needle valve thing on your house plumbing. ... city pressure works fine.. on crappy jet pump and well water.. ...

Re: Finally bought one

I've put around 2500 miles on the car.

The batteries are staying very well balanced. I have one 48 cell Fetcher Goodrum BMS assembled and once a week balance each 48 cell group.

Re: Home brew, first attempt

My apple harvest was a bust this year. Very disappointed no cider.

We had some spare 3/8" stainless tubing at work that they gave me, so I bent my own wort cooler. Worked very well this last batch.

Has anyone tried malting your own grain? It would be very cool to make a batch end to end.

Re: Meanwell Chargers?

I keep hearing about these chargers. They seem great. Im only familiar with icharger 3010b and thunder 1220. I have couple noob questions. I guess you would use these for bulk charging only. Do they cut off after reaching voltage you want? Is there one for 72v without hooking multiple ones together...

Re: Meanwell Chargers?

My new 200v ev charger. 8 - 24v meanwells. The 7 320w don't current limit, they only do hiccup mode. The 200w has current limit and limits the rest.

Paid $25 each for the SP-320-24 on eBay.

Re: Design to add electric to ICE car

Perhaps take an EV and add a gas engine. I'm thinking of a Solectria E10. It's a Chevy S10 truck that they have turned the differential facing back and added two electric drive motors. Could replace one electric with a gas.

I guess I should ask if anyone is not using the end 8 cell balancing section of their boards, I could use them.:-)

Re: "Zephyr" - Finally, the "v4" Fechter/Goodrum/Hecker BMS.

I could use 2 boards if the 2 parallel packs had each cell paralleled. But the way the packs are, only the groups are parallel. I suppose I could combine the balance leads so I only need two boards. Something to think about.

Re: "Zephyr" - Finally, the "v4" Fechter/Goodrum/Hecker BMS.

To clarify, I am not going to use the charger portion of the board. I am only going to use the cell balancing and take to lvc and hvc signals to my own circuits. Lvc will probably just sound a warning and the hvc may shut off the charger, depends on if I get a new charger capable of that or not. So ...

Re: Finally bought one

Right, I should have mentioned that my car has heat pads in the battery compartments. And the charger is smart enough to not charge until the temp is above a preset level. It has temp sensors on the battery terminals. It has thermostats on the heat pads. They run off the charger mains. I just have t...

No, I have no plans for cooling. At most, I might put a fan on the openings. The data I've seen, I shouldn't have a heat problem on what I'm drawing.
