Re: E-Ducati Build

Great build platform. Macribs touched on it earlier and I think it’s something you need to investigate. I believe that with that trellis frame the engine acted as a stressed member. Without it the frame may not hold up to road conditions. It’s not unsolveable just something you should be investigati...

Re: Free!

Skeetab5780 you have more skills than the drive is worth. This frame is nice but has flaws. It’s meant to be a low speed commuter. Never a jumper. You can do better locally.

If you really want it I’m in Barrie Ontario until April 30 ish.

My condolences on your losses. Glad to hear everyone is ok. Sorry to hear about your loss of enthusiasm for ebikes. You are one of the handful of guys that got me into this hobby, I hope once the house is rebuilt and some soul resting time passes, you'll find the love of ebikes again. We need our Do...

Re: Schwinn Electric Bicycle - Which Model?

Oh the memories. That was my first ebike.
It's a Schwinn IZip circa 2008. 24v,450watt brushed Currie motor, SLA's.
Sold at Canadian Tire for about $450, 8 years ago.

I miss mine, as shitty as it was.

Edit.
Nice Strong by the way. I converted a couple of those to brushless/lithium.

There is a battery fire thread, you may want to post that pic and your story there too.

Good luck with your next battery.

I vote crank drive. Left side may be more efficient and you have built some left drive works of art. I'd like to see you use your engineering and artistry skills solving crank drive. I imagine beefed up derailleur, 3 sprockets on a HD freewheel or some clutch or something else you imagine( I don't t...

Re: Battery Build - Qulbix Q76R and Raptor 140 Battery

Will you be glueing the cells together?
If so you may want to consider the extra space that creates. With glue the pack may be tight on the Q76r.
Just a thought.

By the way, two Q76r and a 140. You got the ebike illness bad. Jealous. :)

Re: YOUTUBE RECOMMENDS :

Look what I found in my YouTube recommends.
I drew up something very similar using Sketchup some years ago.
Never got around to it, but great minds think alike.
Though, because I'd use an electric bike I designed with a beefier basic steel frame.
Enjoy

Re: Should I upgrade my Rayos 600w DD w/ 1000w hub motor?

Hello all! I have a Rayos 8 speed 600 watt direct drive bike and it works well on light paths but it's a little rough on trails with roots and rocks, should I upgrade it somehow, perhaps by putting a hub motor on the front to give it more speed? Or just look into getting a new one and put my 1000 w...

You're quite welcome.
Find a few builds that you like, learn all you can, then come back to this thread and ask questions before you buy anything.
I'm happy to help and would hate to see you spend good money on bad parts.

Yeah ik, ill mainly be going 20 when im commuting and whenever I feel like it I could go faster when no one is around lol So if I got this right, a mid drive is faster than a hub but I have to switch gears to do so. Put the Rayos up for sale and someone that wishes to "preserve it" can put money where their mouth is. I wouldn't hesitate to convert it and probably do it before a "nice" quality pedal bike. But, everybody's different. I'd love to "preserve it" and put my money where my mouth is, but I'm in anothe...

Would I be able to ride an electric scooter on the sidewalk then? Also how fast do you think the cyclone would go at 3000v? Iv seen people say 40-47 mph or something but i'm not sure That all depends on the bylaws of your city. You can't ride those scooters on the sidewalks here. But it's unlikely ...

Thank you Brentis, that is kind. Where do you think a good place to start for me would be since I already have a front hub motor? I have a 26" 21-speed GMC Yukon, as well as a 26" 24-speed Specialized Hardrock for mountain bikes but I don't know if they would be good to use.. What do you think? You...
