Re: Not simple BLDC controller

If I understand Arlo's Goal Just getting a controller that does not blow up is the useful thing gained, but it seems cooling this controller might be a task.

Arlo good luck with this project.

Re: Prodeco Phantom X2

That battery is a 12s LiFEPO4 so it is the closest equivalent to 36 nominal so you can treat it as a 36v. It will be easy to find replacements if you have problems.

Re: A Summary Letter for the ES Community

I have taken far more than I put into this community so when Bigmoose suggested we try to buy a copy of trevors data to use as an archive I said I could afford a few thousand to help. thanks to Justin we never needed to resort to that. So new offer Justin please figure out what this thing is going t...

Re: An update on what I know from my end

At some price Trevor will sell but we may not be able to afford that. In that case we need a FORK that doesn't come with a battle that distracts us from the fun of ebikes. So whoever is negotiating needs a fallback in that case bigmoose's idea is not so bad for us and trevor can make money of whatev...

Re: An update on what I know from my end

Edit because of new post -if negotiations don't work I think someone should take Bigmoose's idea and find out what Trevor will take for a legal backup. And I would kick in a few thousand to make it happen. And I trust the moderators we have here to run things well. all we need is a server well hoste...

Two 40 amp controllers on a single 20 amp hour ping is a going to kill the battery.
That battery is maybe good for one 40 amp controller but not two.

Re: Bike rental in USA - more than a SUV?

When I am in Montreal I am impressed with the way people use Bixi bikes, but these are really just short distance transportation in a city. This is the third summer of the bikes and they are all over the place at self serve racks. montreal.bixi.com and chose english at top as it will default to fren...

Re: 40 mph club

So my first bike is a tidal force that has a ebikes.ca 2806 and a stevo 12 fet when I run my 16s 20ah cellman pack it will only go 61kph but when i put 16s lipo on it it runs 65kph so I guess it qualify's as 40 mph but I want to go faster. The second bike has same controller and a sensored hs35 or m...

Re: BMC wire insulation is Shit!

Dogmans comments about lugging the motor make perfect sense . go model any motor on the simulator at ebikes.ca and you see that hubmotors are not efficient at small percentages of their unloaded speeds. This means if you run 1500 watts in to a motor running 70% efficency you are dropping 450 watts o...

Re: Leaf controller and Rev?

You will need to reverse two wires in the power to the winding and also two in the wires to the halls.
Try to reverse the same two colors on each to see if it works well.

Re: BMS not working properly

So most bms just limit the upper voltage on the cell in this case it looks like it is set at 3.9 volts and has not allowed any cells to go higher. when I add these up I get 56.283 and I would guess the charger is not putting out enough voltage to get most of the cells to cutoff the charger on my 16s...

It might be faster to charge the cells that are low with a single cell charger, if not faster at least a little more automatic.

Those cells look exactly like the fox cells that people on the board have bought including myself.

they have mixed reviews and in my case I have not even installed them on the bike, i ordered something else to do the job.

Wow that brings back memories from 20+ years ago racing 10th scale cars on carpet and on pavement.
