Has anyone got to test one of these newer Motors yet ?
90 Nm is nearly twice what my old 2013 Bosch kicks out.

Re: Need Some Way Of Carrying 2 Small Kids Safely.
Maybe you could modify a cargo bike to fit two seats at the back, like one of the long ones that can carry that much weight. Wow, 10 over is a very low tolerance. Here, they wouldn't pull you over unless you drive over 80 in a 65, and on a lot of roads people push even more than that. Not sure how ...

Re: Need Some Way Of Carrying 2 Small Kids Safely.
50 mph on that road?! What?! Usually I'm all for higher speed limits, like the 65 mph speed limits here in Cali are ridiculous, but that road should be like half of that. Something like this might work for you: https://bunchbike.com/products/family-cargo-bike?variant=7687832764467&_vsrefdom=goo...

Re: Need Some Way Of Carrying 2 Small Kids Safely.
There are probably economically feasible solutions for your application, but riding with children under those conditions is untenable for me. I wouldn't begin to consider it unless you could ride off road where there was no danger. Ireland caters for cars mostly, public transport is an embarrassmen...

Re: Need Alternative to Sram Dual Drive 3
For a wheel build I usually recommend poison-bikes. I guess the cannot help you with the Dual Drive. Dickten Fahrräder ( http://dickten-fahrraeder.de/ ) in Wuppertal actually build and sell bikes with the 27 speed SRAM Dual Drive. Maybe they can sell you spare parts, a new wheel, or a new hub? Than...

Re: Need Alternative to Sram Dual Drive 3
Does anyone know anywhere in Europe where I could get a hub with wheel build ?
I could ask around one of the bike shops in Dublin who might do it.
What would be the best match for the DD3 ?

Re: Need Alternative to Sram Dual Drive 3
Gear ratios were pretty much perfect on the DD3 and it shifted well under load.markz wrote: ↑Feb 08 2019 11:42pmS.O.L. drop a pretty dime on a new IGH
Were the gear ratios good when you had the Dual Drive 3?

Re: Need Alternative to Sram Dual Drive 3
I'll see if I can find the parts catalogue I downloaded because the current ones does not show the list of parts any more. That might help. Sheldon Browns website Harrys Cyclery sells parts for the Shimano brand IGH, surely SRAM has parts available. Perhaps ring up your local bike store and see wha...

roads where I live are very narrow country lanes where you have to pull in and stop if you meet another car and I really don't see any safe way of carrying them. A lot of times parents have to go with their instincts. If something goes wrong, it may be difficult to deal with the fact that your init...

Re: Need Some Way Of Carrying 2 Small Kids Safely.
I've been thinking about a dedicated cargo style like this would be perfect but the cost is far too expensive. https://www.greenaer.ie/product/urban-arrow-cargo-bike/ The Bosch performance CX no doubt would be a couple of hundred more expensive. This is probably my favorite https://www.greenaer.ie/p...

Thanks amberwolf, you sure clocked up a lot of posts since I was last here ! I've thought about the bike trailer but the problem is that people drive way too fast and don't think what could be around the next bend and really they would be on top of you before they could see you. No, searched, seems all supply is either gone or can't find one with all the parts attached like the shifting pin etc which is broke on mine along with the threaded bolt, the parts themselves just can't be got, the hub itself is working fine just can't shift gears so put a normal wheel on without th...

I'm seeking a way to carry a 3 and 4.5 year old boys on my bike but I do not have cycle lanes and my roads where I live are very narrow country lanes where you have to pull in and stop if you meet another car and I really don't see any safe way of carrying them. Need Alternative to Sram Dual Drive 3
I damaged my Sram and can't get parts since Sram no longer produce gear hubs I'm looking for an alternative that I can match to the Bosch Motor, it's only 50 Nm. I really miss the gear range. Looking for something easy enough to install. Something preferably with wheel rather than the hub itself. Th...

It's a trade off. Big heavy bulk, longer life or smaller lighter and shorter life. You could still get a couple of years use. My Bosch battery on my Bosch Mid drive is 3 years old and I don't notice any loss of range, though I admit I haven't had the time to use it the last year and I store it aroun...

Bosh are limited by ridiculously low E.U power limits of 250 watts so they can only get so much torque, however they use tricks to fool testing equipment by delaying full power ramp up so they get away with 500 watts and about 750 peak..... I remember when playing around with LiPo that charging it cold didn't charge at the same C rate on the Icharger ? I never used temp sensors to charge LiPo. I'm also nearly sure I observe the Leaf charge at a higher rate in warmer weather , let me explain. Yesterday I charged the Leaf from almost 0% ...

Re: Is this guy the expert he claims ?
Maybe but it's the cells chemistry and internal resistance changes that allow Nissan to charge the 30 Kwh faster, this came from Nissan themselves. I'm not debating the charger limiting the power I know this from charging countless LiPo cells with balance chargers. But the "actual" limitin...
