Re: Should I replace a bent cell?
Yes, and now rather than later - no idea of that cell is a time bomb or totally fine after that kind of damage.

Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor
AFAIK the golden motor hubs, and pretty much every hub with an integrated controller, all have a history of reliability problems with the internal controller. It seems like an ultimately bad idea for a motor and controller to be sharing the same heat space. In the case of the magic pie, more power i...

Re: gas price thread
Utah has had the cleanest air year i have ever experienced thus far due to the big trucks and SUVs that typically dominate the road being driven a lot less all the sudden.
I forget what gas costs because i only fill up the subcompact Mazda once a month. I think it's still ~5.00/gal here.

Re: Return of the ES wiki!
Not much to report yet.. but we've decided to throw CKEditor out replace it with Froala even if CKE will give us an open source license. This represents a little plot twist that will set us back.. but we are all about investing in the long term future of this software. The reason being is that if ne...

Forgot one last thing..
In xenforo, if you click an image in a post, you get a fullscreen version gallery instead of a click into nowhere.
Nice!

Not all too different.
The colors on those pages are a bit inconsistent, the padding also needs tuning, but you get the general idea.

Some foundational decisions about the aesthetic ( currently up for debate ) will be made by June 15th.
More on that later.
But so far, this is what ES 2.0 would look like if launched today:

Re: Return of the ES wiki!
It's Wednesday. I not sure we will get a public beta going by the end of this week because there is a code cleanup phase, bug squishing phase, and visual cleanup phase needed. I'd rather show a good demo instead of just a demo. :) The great news is that the hierarchy on the left is fully working ( w...

Re: Nazca Pioneer solar recumbent build
A big moment, the solar mounting is complete and I took the bike out for a spin! The full plan is to mount two panels, but I'll ride it like this for a few days to get a feel on how the bike handles with all this new stuff bolted on. Pretty sweet, i do wonder what happens with the aerodynamics of t...

Re: High performance & durability Cannondale Semi Recumbent
Okay i need another sanity check.. Chalo once recommended to me that a fork could be reduced in size safely like so: 1. Cut the fork legs. 2. Insert a metal tube that's just the right diameter and get the metal tube to support where the fork is broken. 3. Weld it. 4. Heat treat it ( it's aluminum ) ...

Re: High performance & durability Cannondale Semi Recumbent
Maybe one good clue is that the lightning bikes have super short rakes and are known to be very stable.. Lightning-P-38-Red-Used.jpg Sounds like i have my answer but check my logic on the idea that less rake = actually a good thing for this bike considering that i want it to go fast and am happy to ...

Re: High performance & durability Cannondale Semi Recumbent
I have also considered a 20" no suspension chromoly fork up front.. my only concern is that i see a lot of long rakes on recumbent forks.. from what i understand, the more rake, the twitchier the bike is. The less rake, the more stable it as at high speed ( what i want! ). So perhaps something ...

Re: High performance & durability Cannondale Semi Recumbent
I have a tough question about this frame and fork and recumbent geometry.. I have a yellow jekyll frame with a 26" fork. The front and rear end of both bikes is actually interchangeable with the cannondale bent. The bike's stock wheels are 20" rear, 16" front. I am thinking of putting...

Sorry, i just completely shelved it because i think it doesn't have a business case or even a public funding case. The rest is a few drawing and writings i haven't shared. What i have is more of an outline.

Had some fun with 18 fet monster vesc  85A battery 200 phase seems like a good everyday setup. 72v nominal 84v max. 1500wh copper battery. tried 150/300A but things start getting hot after while. :flame: but this power levels are total overkill anyway, for fun test rides Jesus that's a cool bi...

bikeisland or bikesdirect is a pretty good place to look for an extra large frame on the cheap.

Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor
Your biggest problem with that bike is going to be weight if you're adding a rollcage and all sorts of stuff. I'm imagining something in the realm of 150lbs or more.. am i right? +100lbs over a regular ebike = you're gonna need a lot more power while accelerating. Although you have a velomobile, so ...

Certain things didn't go according to plan.
Nerdpress will get built one way or another though.
Let me get together a demo soon so you can try it and see if you think it's worth putting money into for the features ES needs.
