Re: Thread for new battery breakthrough PR releases

Interesting paper... looks scientifically sound and the authors from UIC, Argonne and Purdue are credible. Swagelock cells have been built and tested based on theoretical calculations of the novel ingredients (Li as anode, CO2 as cathode with MoS2 as catalyst and a ionic liquid/dimethyl sulfoxide el...

Re: Ebike Hub Motor overheating cooling solution - HUBSINK OFFICIAL THREAD

Interesting... 3M produces a "Thermally Conductive Silicone Interface Pad 5586" (sold e.g. by Mouser) 210x155x2mm which could do the job. Thanks for the tips!

Re: Ebike Hub Motor overheating cooling solution - HUBSINK OFFICIAL THREAD

Throwing in the Goldenmotor hubmotor (large diameter model) with&w/o internal controller: I measured the circumference with a wire (903mm) and calculated the diameter -> 287.4mm. Width between flanges, flat part without radius: 16mm max, so perfect for 1x 15mm ring of hubsinks. Magnet width: 19mm, d...

Re: two way throttle? (thumb or twist)

Since I tested a Vectrix eScooter with a two way throttle years ago I also want such a thing on my vehicles. Couldn't find it yet... #15 in your link looks good, but they don't give specs (2 x hall 1-4V would be nice) and say it's only designed for their own system.

Re: Hi power inverter for Nissan leaf motor. Dyno's 302.3hp p15

Some time in a hopefully not too far future it would be amazing to see Lebowski's OR Axiom's software running on the Axiom hardware (all open source), so that a direct comparison with mutual learning effects would be possible. Something like the battle of the titans!

Cool to see things moving on! But now you leave us curious with many questions...
A new CRX? Same mods as for the black one, with Leaf motor? Powerdesigns controller instead of Lebowski/Arlo? Even more oompf?
Looking forward to the answers!

Re: Sensorless at standstill, development updates and status

Maybe not a Zero, but something similar... in the meantime we have 2 Quantya's sitting around unused with broken DC-Controllers and I would be happy to bring you one (street legal) for experimenting as long as you want. For the motor I'm thinking about buying a Revolt RV-160Es, not a monster (~20kWp...

Re: DLD and DCF files for LEM 200 - D127 with SEVCON Gen4 DC

Don't give up Lebowski, please.... it's a pleasure to follow you over all the years, and I finally had some progress after updating to version 2.A1 (well, it just blew up again recently, but every time I try to learn from my mistakes...). Just a thought: Maxon Motors in Switzerland is producing tiny...

Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

I was soooo close, but now there's dispair: The power PCB is ready and I connected the processor board. On 35V from the lab power supply the 15V and 5V LEDs were first flickering. I installed 2x270ohm resistors for R1 (540ohm) to lower the voltage to the brainboard, so I had only about 18V as supply...

Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

A good disconnection including a spark prevention would really be nice, I tried to find what is around in the Sphere and found Fechters and Methods designs. My proposal based on their knowledge is: BatterySwitch_FechterVedder.JPG It includes a connection to Justins Cycle Analyst. Hope that this will...

Hmm, DC motors, I don't know.... part of the fun of following your work is that it's NOT DC. There are spectacular examples how far you can get with plasma-spitting monsters, so why repeat what others have already demonstrated in perfection? I personally want to get rid of my Lynch motors, because I...

Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

I need your opinion... the controllers I know have an "enable" function, which is a battery voltage input to the controller which can be switched on and off with any type of device (keyswitch, kill switch, rip cord, ...). The main battery line is not interrupted, just the brain is switched off which...

Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

Sorry for the confusion, on course just one resistor with the right wattage would be the simplest (for 20S: 470 Ohm 2W (1.18W dissipation)). I was just hoping to find standard 0.5W resistors I could combine. Stupid problem: If I order single resistors in an online shop, this costs a lot considering ...

3.1 l/100km, not bad indeed for a retro-technology I'm also still using (4 l/100km with BMW F800S) . But back to the future... The choice of R1 on the Power PCB is much more sensitive to the battery voltage than I first thought. Protect the processor-board from high voltage (how much is accep...

Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

Thanks a lot bas, this is very helpful for all the builders and whereswally's cool kit.
So this looks like a 1kOhm 0.5W resistor for R1 (or 2 x 2kOhm 0.25W in parallel) for a 20S 84V setup, 220 Ohm is definitely not enough.
I replaced the needed 39kOhm for R2 instead of the 39Ohm in the kit.

I got the nicely prepared kit for the power PCB from whereswally and a pimped brain PCB from lebowski. This brain is so tiny... almost the size of a post stamp. Re: Power PCB for Lebowski Controller to be combined with Bobc's processor board

I just got my power-PCB kit as well, nicely packed with marked components. Happy! Now I have to reserve time for the assembly and a solution for the MOSFET cooling has to be found. Looks like an 'L' Alu-bar with a thickness of 5mm and a length of ~77mm would be ideal, 25-35mm wide on the FET side an...
