Re: Hi power inverter for Nissan leaf motor. Dyno's 302.3hp p15

Wouldn't it be enough to adjust the polynomial coefficients in the 'throttle setup' menu e.g. to (0.1, 0.38, 0.52) to get a smoother low speed behavior?

Re: Show off your lebowski controller

That's why I love ES: I learned so much in a very short time thanks to your tips and the videos. I definitely need bigger chisel-stile soldering tips, finer solder and a flux pen. And this T100 looks very tempting, although with a fatter chisel tip for my 48W Weller things could change a lot. I hope...

Re: Show off your lebowski controller

Thanks for the tips progrock, I will check out these videos! Sorry to be a bit out of topic, but: One of the biggest soldering problems is to connect a fat wire (like 10AWG silicone multistrand) to a chip leg (like current sensor or MTI 85 6-fet chip). With a 48W-Weller the wire is sucking away the ...

Re: Show off your lebowski controller

If you see this, you understand why I'm stuck... inability to solder. I don't have the education, skills, instruments etc. The idea of the design probably wouldn't be bad, very close to lebowski's powerstage proposal. DSC_0104_powerstage_v1_failed_lo.jpg This attempt just fell apart, so I bought som...

Re: Show off your lebowski controller

I'm deeply impressed by these nice outcomes... my own attempts are quite embarrassing  . DSC_0107_brain_and_powerstage_v1_small.jpg But even if I failed up to now and the controller is still not placed in a bike, I'm following everything around lebowski's controller. Part of my old efforts are...

Re: Update files Lebowski controller IC

Andy, you are right: When I ordered 30 units of the ACS758 the price was at EUR 5.54, so in USD it would be a bit more. Is your smaller board using the components of the original lebowski board, just splitting the board in two sections? As far as I remember you use the smaller controller IC and a di...

Re: Update files Lebowski controller IC

Although the fascinating switched reluctance motors are not (as far as I know) available on the market in our desired size, compatibility with the lebowski controller would be nice. My wish for the low cost version would be: Max. 80mm wide instead of 100mm for better compatibility with bicycle frame...

Re: Update files Lebowski controller IC

Brilliant, I will send them. A bit out of topic, but now that you mentioned it... Do you think that the kA-powerstage will be compatible with the actual controller or will it need a faster chip and different layout?

Re: Update files Lebowski controller IC

Thanks Bas, impressive... Is the update possible only from 2.71 to 2.80 or also from lower versions (in my case v2.50 to 2.80)?
Are you planning to make the update files available here in this thread?

Re: Lebowski's motor controller IC, schematic & setup, new v

Your answer inspired me lebowski and this attempt based on the MAC numbers in the video might look interesting: U_batt ____________ 38 _____ V _____ Battery voltage U_backemf ________ 38 _____ V _____ same as U_batt w/o fieldweakening, right? R ________________ 0.16 ____ Ohm __ double the measured R...

Re: Lebowski's motor controller IC, schematic & setup, new v

ThanX Lebowski for the useful video and the new v2.6 user manual on page 1 here. The effect of field weakening seems to be much bigger than I thought! Questions: 1) With A_fieldweakening at 70% of "b)" "b)max motor phase current" the rpm are doubled. Assuming that the iron is not saturated: Is it po...

Re: Lebowski's motor controller IC, schematic and setup manu

This is like a thrilling detective story! If good parameters for the difficult MAC can be found, this will be helpful for other motors as well.
Thanks Lebowski for putting up the setup manual for v2.5 on page 1 of this thread.

Re: New Lebowski disciple!

Ah yes, I've seen you choose 15 Ohm and 4.7 Ohm to drive IPFP 4568 (typ/max 151/227nC) resulting in charge/discharge times of ~263/63 ns. With IRFP 4468 (typ/max 360/540C) charge/discharge would be doubled. Discharge current with 3.2A still in an acceptable range. So the problem must be somewhere el...

Re: New Lebowski disciple!

Marc, I think you are right that "f) autocomplete, restore calibration" doesn't need the motor connected and that the hall sensors are automatically assigned to the phases. But maybe Lebowskis remark about the FET capacitance is relevant for your problem. Approx. 100nC (lebowski with IRFP 4115) vs. ...

Re: Hi power high voltage inverter build for nissan leaf mot

My highest admiration Arlo!
Lebowski: Arlo once mentioned a possible error in menu 'g) control loop coefficients' / phase control loop, drive 2 / 'g) 3rd order'
He set it at 0.3 instead of 0.0299 (less than 1/40 of 'f) 2nd order' which is ~48 -> less than 1.2).
How did this end up?

Re: New Lebowski disciple!

Yes, I forgot to mention that, Lebowskis documents are perfectly updated. My info is only valid for the ones (like marcexec) who have the 2.30 board and would eventually use an updated chip. This is easily possible with that small modification.

Re: New Lebowski disciple!

Dan: The Quantya doesn't need a new controller, the Alltrax 7245 is made for up to 20 cells (84V_max). It has to be reprogrammed for the higher voltage limit, that's all. If you want to keep the original 48V main relay, a resistor (~150 Ohm) is needed for the relay coil. Similar mod for the 48V volt...

Marc, you will not miss anything in v2.30 compared to v2.40 besides the temperature functionality. Fits well with my experience and theoretical calculations for the power demand at the wheel (in kW) in this table: 2wheeler_power.JPG So for an eMoto (Enduro) with bad air drag coefficient and upright position I would predict about 9.2 kW power demand at the wheel. With eta_controller=0.95 and eta_m...
