Bafang MID engine M300 tuning

Hi, I'm considering buying a EU bike with a bafang M300. Anybody got any experience with tuning it from 25 km/h speed tot +- 40 km/h? For bafang mid engines I can find 2 types of equipment to tune the bike: - USB cable - Speedbox for bafang I'm not sure if any of these 2 will work on the M300 engine...

Re: On off switch battery

No it wont. You need something rated at a minimum of 20amps load if you are trying to switch the main power. That cord switch is way too small. You can simply google 20 or 30a switches or key switches and find something to better suit the job This switch is not suitable for turning your 48v DC batt...

Calculating/estimating top speed

Hi I'm thinking about buying a bike with a Bofeili crank drive and a 36V 8,8 Ah battery (bottle with samsung cells). How do I calculate/estimate the top speed without pedalling, light pedalling and heavy pedalling? Wheel size is 26 inch and I weigh 78 kg / 171 pounds. The supplier tells me it can re...

Ebike ride to windturbines

Today I rode my bike to go see 3 windturbines that have just been build a couple of miles from my home. Here are some pictures of the ride: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-9ItH4K4Fw38/Tj7W4-uYRmI/AAAAAAAAB2g/sS0XNTih2SA/s912/DSCF0101.JPG https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-oeufEmhEOn4/Tj7W7KPe8oI/...

Tire pressure! At what psi are you cruising?

I've had a flat recently ... I had myself to blame because I did not put any rim tape on my rims to protect the tube. Today I fixed my flat and put some rim tape on my rim. When inflating my tire I was wondering what the best PSI is to have a smooth and efficient ride. I saw that my tire can handle ...

Re: Ping battery with 9 FET 72V Lyen controller

That 2C rate is basically what the battery can handle for an extended amount of time without dying. For all purposes, a ping battery will give it's best performance, and give it's rated cycle life at the rated discharge ( 1C ) or below. Now, shunt modding your controller won't give you a higher top...

Ping battery with 9 FET 72V Lyen controller

I've been riding my ebike for a while now, I have a Ping 48V 15AH battery and a Ampedbikes kit (9C direct drive kit). I'm loving my bike but the acceleration is kinda slow. I noticed on my watt meter the Ampedbikes controller allmost never pulls more then 15 amps. To get better acceleration, I'm thi...

Re: Bike lights running on battery

I'd guess the 3V light fried shorted, drawing excessive current from the DC-DC, which then died. OK, I've checked. Both my light and my DC DC converter are dead. Time to buy a new converter and light. Anybody know a good 12V light voor an affordable price? http://www.dealextreme.com/p/trustfi...

Bike lights running on battery

I made my bike lights run on my ping battery. I put a lyen voltage converter in paralel with my battery to go from 48V to 10V. It was working, my lights shined but it was only for 60 seconds, then they died and I couldn't manage to bring them to life again. Now I'm wondering what could have gone wro...

Davy1010's Highlander build

I've been building my ebike for a while now. It's not complete yet but yesterday it was ready for a test drive. Here is a video of my test drive from yesterday, filmed with the HD 808 #11 keychain camera in 720p (45 dollar on ebay): http://www.vimeo.com/25667476 Here is a log of my build, I'll have ...

Re: Fiberglass battery case

A new update (1/05/2011) see first post. Guys, I need to find a solution for the places where I sanded into the cloth, I think this will be visible when I paint it like it is now. Any ideas? Maybe I'll do some filler on it but then my box will not be straight anymore, there will be a little wave in ...

Re: Wire diagram

I am sure on 48V it would last alot longer, With your light/fan switch...you will only be able to have fan and lights on at same time is that how you wanted it? KiM I want the fan to be on all the time, the on off switch is meant for the light only. I thought if I put them in parralel this would wo...

Re: Wire diagram

One thing I would point out is ideally you should have a precharge resistor for the kill switch. This isn't such a big issue with 48V, as the arc isn't so bad, but basically the arc created from constantly turning that kill switch on and off will eventually fry/pit the contacts. I run 84 volts, so ...

For my build I've figured out the wire diagram below, I'm an electrical newbie so I'm not sure if this will work / will not short my battery... Re: Fiberglass battery case

Very cool ~ How do you think it weighs? The wood box I'm building now probably weighs ~ 3lbs Fans are good..... might not need them though..... if you do need them, I'm not sure cycling air in the small enclosed space will do much. Another Idea I toyed with was mounting heat sinks to the controller...

Re: Fiberglass battery case

I'm working on a similar project, a triangular battery box, but mine's made out of wood. Yours is much cooler, and no doubt gains a good bit of space inside using the composite. I am very interested in the cooling question as well, I am planning (or was until I saw this thread) to put the controlle...

Re: Maxxis Hookworm tire clearance

Depends on the rim width, but they're pretty serious about them being 2.5". Mine, on MTX 33 rims are 2.5" wide. So I would need 2.5 inches plus the thickness of both pads (to clear as they wear) plus a quarter inch to clear mud, leaves, or anything else that might stick to the sidewalls. Thanks, wh...

Maxxis Hookworm tire clearance

I'm riding a bike with v-brakes, can someone who owns maxxis hookworms 2.5 tires tell me how much tire clearance I need width and height (inches or cm)?

So I can check if it will fit.

Thanks
