Re: Optibike carbon fiber R15C

Opti keeps innovating. I would love to try riding it... I really like the 5 levels of assist. I'm still waiting for a PAS option, a rear integrated tail light and a 7-8k price point.

Re: Ideas about opening up an electric bicycle store.

Hopefully you never followed through on your fantasy about opening a ebike store. Your technical knowledge is the last thing you'll need to operate a business successfully. Have you ever sold anything before ? Have you worked wi customers on a regular basis ? Do you understand inventory and cash fl...

Re: Drop-Bar eBikes (like a "road" bike)

Hey all! I'm very much a road biker, drop bars and spandex and all that ridiculous stuff. My question is if there are any good, performance oriented eBikes out there that have drop bars, road bike geometry (a little more leaned over and stretched out), and maybe tend to be lighter than a usual heft...

Re: Guinness World Record Attempt Ebike 5000 miles 30 days

I am the guy who just set a new a Guinness World Record. 5100 miles in 34 days. The BIG differences between my attempt and troy rank's attempt are 1 . I used a sag wagon to carry my stuff but troy did not! [ Kudos to Troy] 2. I had to pedal all those 5100 miles. Troy used throttle all the way. My b...

Well done. You may find this interesting: http://www.sunrider.fr/category/info-du-jour/ He did 6952km in 25 days and he brought his camping stuff ...and he ONLY used solar energy! Running a fast ebike from a big battery and recharging it over night via the grid is one thing, doing this by solar ene...

Re: The biggest problem at 25mph+ is rarely discussed resist

Or so it seems? So many want more range and speed, but seek answers ~only in more power and weight. Fairings, lycra, aerodynamic panniers, bigger wheels ... seem treated as minor issues with ebikes, when in fact it is the biggest issue at approaching car type speeds, and increases exponentially bey...

Re: California CVC 406(b)-What constitutes a "Motorized Bicy

PS. The second wammy is that Cali laws will often lead other US state laws. The ebike advocated of this law want this to happen. They want established laws in NY and other difficult states. Yes, more ebikes will be sold. However, WE ALL KNOW and have experienced, that a 20-, 350W of anything will so...

Re: California CVC 406(b)-What constitutes a "Motorized Bicy

This law has been hotly debated on the EBR forum. On record, I think it is more BAD than good. The law was crafted by those who stand to benefit the most, big box companies with multiple models, all mostly sub 20, low powered option. The original proposal had a class 4 category: up to 28mph or more ...
