Sweet! Many years ago I owned a B4 TDI -- such a great car. Your installation looks great. Bet it will "rock" @ 96V !!

Re: An alternative, "modern" display /SOMEWHAT LIKE/ cycle analyst

Once upon a time Powervelocity offered exactly what you wanted. He had a Bluetooth module that accepted the same pin-outs as a CA2. But best of all, his iPhone app was a joy to use and look at. Sadly, he no longer sells the module, having focused entirely on next-gen controllers as of late. But I th...

Re: Porsche announced 2 ebikes: Sport and Cross

Speaking of extraordinary design, take a look at the sculpting of the Porsche "sport" bike's handlebar with everything hidden within. Frankly, a work of art, Nobody does that, much less the Chinese.

Re: Porsche announced 2 ebikes: Sport and Cross

For those of you not familiar with Porsche Design here is a link to their US_en site: https://shop.porsche.com/us/en/ Note that at this point, Porsche Design primarily caters to the 1%. And I have loved their design gestalt since their founding -- like many things German, the best in the world (even...

Re: Porsche announced 2 ebikes: Sport and Cross

Oh so they bought an off the shelf motor and an off the shelf controller. Backpedaling are we? Making ignorant, unsubstantiated claims on a forum like this is not advisable. The bike is manufactured to Porsche's design specs by ROTWILD. Hardly a firm whose products could be characterized as "o...

They designed and made their own motor?
That's not what you implied in your original post.
But to clarify: the EP8 motor is by Shimano.

Re: Porsche announced 2 ebikes: Sport and Cross

All Porsche did was browse a dozen china builders to suit their needs, slap on the Porsche logo and give their ebikes a nice paint job and instantly their profit margins increase ten fold. Clearly you don't know squat about the Porsche design team or their process. What you describe above isn't in ...

Please raise your hand if you're willing, thank you. Unfortunately, SEO is never a "set it and forget it" solution. Happy to chat, but it will need to be more of a methodology than a technology if high pagerank is what you are after. M P.S. did you know that pagerank refers to Larry Page ...

Re: Lectra motorbike renovation

I have a 1999 Lectra Motorbike that was imported from the USA many years ago. Man, you could easily fit a 18kWh lithium battery pack on that bad boy -- plenty of room for batteries, controller, charger, and motor, even a radiator. No need to hack the frame at all. If you could get your hands on a u...

Do you have a 30A 240V circuit available in your house/garage?
No, no access at all.
???? Then how are you going to charge your battery?
20A 115V ? If so, you'll be leaving some Amps on the table!

After capacity testing the cells and checking a few other things my cells are now not the same voltage. The easiest thing to do would be to charge them all up to max 4.2V but I don’t really want to build the pack fully charged. If you can figure out a way to build a jig to wire a bunch of the batte...

Re: Electric Motorcycle and ATV questions (QSMotors)

So part of me thinks maybe it'd be a better idea to wait a few years for things to advance, and maybe drive the cost of everything down as well as have more options for parts to buy. But at the same time, that could be an endless cycle of waiting. If you don't have a workshop like Dui (3D printer, ...

Re: Electric Motorcycle and ATV questions (QSMotors)

QSmotors are very high quality. Your "problem" is that you are spoiled by the 600cc bike you have to compare with! Assuming you would be willing to invest in something that will perform much less than a Zero motorcycle I'd go with the latest V4 12kW QSmotor 17" hub. See: https://www.q...

In a similar vein, I have spent this winter custom fitting a 1985 Honda CH250 trailing arm fork onto my electrified GY6 Chinese clone. Most of the precision engineering is done. Final detailing should come in the next two months just in time for springtime. Here is a sketch of what it will look like...

If you scroll back one page you would see that I mention that I used a NEMA L6-30P 30A 240V inlet.
