Re: Tesla MS-MX refresh coming in April?

...When they switch cells they will gain an increased capacity of at least ~7% (not including possible chemistry changes) and the replacement cells will cost Tesla 20-40% less. Doing that will require substantial battery pack changes so I think that there is good chance of a major update of the MS-...

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

Avoiding the question again bill. I told you ENERGY, not POWER. Your statement that "you are left with only 35% capacity" is in reference to POWER. (i.e. total available generation in GW.) Was it bill ??....or maybe thats what you assumed,...and infact i was thinking in terms of GWh ! So please exp...

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

What about the hot (or cold, ..sub zero) evenings with no wind ? After 2.5 hrs your storage is gone and you are left with a possible 35% generation capacity ! Electrical ENERGY. Not power. Avoiding the question again bill. PS..capacity can be expressed as W or Wh...! Either way ...you wont have eno...

Re: Wind and Solar vs Coal, Gasoline, Nuclear

RE can be made to work 100% of the time, but (like all energy sources) at diminishing returns to achieve ever greater levels of reliability, but it's a strawman argument. Running on RE 99, 95, hell even 50% of the time is a *lot* better than running 100% on fossil fuels, as was the status quo only ...

Re: Elon Musk plans to inquire with Daimler about collaboration on an electric sprinter van

I doubt Daimler needs much help from Musk to produce an EV Van.. Probably not. But they might be able to use some help producing a long range EV van with a worldwide network of fast chargers. Range is mainly a function of battery capacity, which is directly related to price. MB are apparently build...

I don't know what you are going to use for power input, but let me tell you right off the bat that alternators are meant to run at very high rpm. ...
?? High rpm ??.... Many alternators can produce max output below 2000 rpm .

But wind doesnt work like that ..
If the wind is not blowing, then no amount of extra turbines is going to increase the energy generated.

MB are not new to the EV game. Re: How much power to field coils?

You can't just run it as a motor from the plug. You probably have to open the Alternator and remove the Diodes if you want to use it as one. Then the wires will make more sense. Did you read the OP ?
