And why is it only going to work on next gen... https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2022/01/220104095611.htm From the article.. .The idea for the study was born when Cui speculated that applying a voltage to a battery's cathode and anode could make an isol...

Re: TSDz2 brass gear whining

The reduction in power (omph ) is likely the result of battery voltage drop..( sag under load ,and voltage reduction as capacity is used) . How much this is noticed will depend on the individual battery spec, capacity, chemistry, age, etc etc. A fully charged pack will feel more “pepy” initially tha...

Re: TSDz2 brass gear whining

Interesting. Can I ask though - is it noisy enough that people in the street will turn around to find the source of the high pitched whine?! Well, mine is for sure !....but it was with the blue gear also . Also my roller clutch in the brass gear just destroyed itself, so i replaced it, regreased al...

Re: Electric liveaboard catamaran project

Outboards aren't bought yet, but while an inboard may have some advantages, I'm going for a boat with no holes below the waterline. The head will be composting, and with outboards I can close up the shaft tube too. ............ ..... but for the start I'll go pure solar. I know someone with a simil...

Re: Electric liveaboard catamaran project

Ref solar panel rating... remember you will not get near the full panel rating with them mounted horozontal, and when you are under way with sail and wave motion, the output is very erratic.
A wind generator can be very effective on a sail boat..and at night !

Re: Help with disc thickness? BR-MT200

So this seems to answer the questions of why manufacturers have rotor size limits. A large rotor can put more force into the fork or frame than a smaller rotor. Yes,.. In theory, but the maximum torque the rotor will experience is limited by the tyre grip. So if the 160 rotor can lock up the f whee...

Re: Help with disc thickness? BR-MT200

. But what about the fact that the clamping force of the pads on the rotor is not infinite? Some amount of torque will overpower the pads on the 160mm rotor. If you apply the same amount of force on the brake lever with the 203mm rotor wont it take more torque than the 160mm to spin it? Sure, all o...

Re: Help with disc thickness? BR-MT200

....... The braking stress is torque on the mount at the forks or frame. The larger the dia of the rotor the longer the lever so the more torque the frame or fork mounts are experiencing. For a given amount of brake squeeze pressure the torque on the mounts and calipers will increase as the rotor i...

But remember, by the time you get even half way discharged , you will be running below 10 volts ! And if you actually use that 64ah, you will be belo...
