Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Theodore,

Your bike always looks great! Crazy how good suspension and a lot of travel keeps your tires stuck to the ground to both go quicker and stop faster......you have learned what most will never know.

That is crazy heavy. My guess was that weight with both batteries and an extra large.

Bummer.

Re: Best high current connector

I think that most large gauge connectors are crimp because of how hard it would be to heat large scale connectors. Can you imagine the size of iron you would need for 4, 2, 1 or larger gauge wire? The copper would suck the heat away like crazy! Crimping works great when properly done. Precisely! Ni...

I would say on the next one make the cutouts like the black sprocket In the picture on top of that one. Pretty much all things mechanical need triangulation for strength. Re: Electric Enduro Ebike questions.

Just build and ride the bike as is. I come from a lot of experience in long travel off road cars and have this frame. Is it the best, absolutely not! It works well though with a QS205 V3 motor. Do I recommend jumping.....no! As long as the back wheel isn’t coming of the ground the bike works well ( ...

The one I had years back was modified by LYEN to run 75 amps......at 20s. I’d say that is getting close to your limit as them max you should run.

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

That reminds me of a joke A senior citizen applies for a job. The lady in the HR department doing the interview asks, what would you say is your worst human trait? The man without hesitation answers saying, I'm brutally honest. The HR lady says, I don't think being honest is really a bad trait. He ...

Re: Off-The-Shelf Ebike. Worth it?

MadRhino, I’m with you. Well, kinda! I have a 14.5 KW 65+mph bike and now I wanna get a off the shelf bike. I’m a bit turned off about the small battery and lack luster speed/power. I do like the idea of being able to peddle the whole time (my bike sucks To peddle over about 23 mph...cadence sucks a...

Re: Custom KMX recumbent trike with QS205

I wonder if the axle slots went up and down would be technically stronger? Seems like there could possibly be more flex with the way your drop outs are or if you just got a poor quality axle?

Bummer man.

Amberwolf your awesome! Thanks for the reply.....I’m assuming the same thing you are. I’m going to replace all 3 will 8mm Castle Creations bullets....supposed to be good to 300 amps. Random motor cogging

So my bike has a MaxE controller/BMS and QS205 3.5T motor. I get this random cogging with a sound that almost seems like the motor is out of sync or fight it self. Took the motor off and apart to inspect. FerroFluid looks great still after a few years now and hasn’t dried up a bit. All wires on phas...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

I have a home built 20s15p 30Q pack which is 45 amps.......of which I’ve never used more than 25amps. Makes me feel good to use less than 50% capacity......should last a long, long time! I made it big so I can pull 200 + amps at any time. MaxE/QS205 gets hungry at times. 35 is a good sized pack and ...

The cranks/chain wheel I chose is good for everything except going over big logs......I have had to get off the bike a couple times going over big logs to keep from damaging the chain wheel. I do peddle a lot......basically I always peddle on the road/paths to keep a stealthy appearance. On smooth t...

Re: Another "stealth bomber" build.

You will need a chain tensioner. No need for buyers remorse....you just may need to modify a bit. We all have small things we needed to do to get the build done. No big deal. I have a 48 tooth front and 16 rear which is uncomfortable to peddle past about 22-23 mph. I’m guess you will struggle past 1...
