Re: Ebike Project 72V HS3540 UK "build thread" +Videos!
Here are the updates! I"ve cleaned up the bike and drop out. And YES, the problem was with hall sensor. I"ve replaced all three just in case, I'm surprised with how clean the inside of the motor was despite all the riding and harsh conditions in the last three years! Here are the photos! Almost forg...

I was going about 30mph when light changed in front of me so I let the throttle go and regen kicked in, I hear grinding noise just like when sensor wires aren't matched a...

How are Doc's torquearms holding up with the dp410? I just bought a 2008 Epic comp and planning to do the same as your dropouts 8) Thanks m8 After over 3000miles, still holding solid! Only thing I've done is to paint it with anti-rust paint so I try winto rust away. Just make sure you heat it while...

before you decide I'll tell u something from my experience. my first E-bike did have battery pack on the rear rack. it was so out of balance and I never got satisfied with how it looked. plus you will never find perfect stand so it will fall once in a while. if lipo is not protected very well, you c...

Re: Ebike Project 72V HS3540 UK "build thread" +Videos!
As far as balance charging, hows your cheapo ebay one working? Do you think id be okay to bulk charge and use 3 battery medics (6s3p) kind of like what you did with 4? I can easily make 3 harnesses for the balance leads. Cant say I really understand why you use the battery medics to balance out the...

Hi, I've got some c4140 transistors for 600w charger replacement.
Questions is, can I use them for 400w charger too? The 400w ones are 4139.

Re: First build - show me the way of the e-bike!
I think for you. the best thing to do is to buy kit with 48v 1000w motor, 25A controller and 10/15Ah Lifepo4. most of the ebay kit with battery are this type. this is good example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1000W-Motor-48V-15AH-Lithium-Ion-Battery-Electric-Bicycle-Conversion-kit-/390594910673?pt=LH_...

1. Is there any reason I should wait till I have a bike before I spring for the rest of the gear? Dropout spacing maybe? 2. Recommendations on a balancer that would work with my large lead acid batteries and accommodate my large amount of laptop battery cells in the future? 3. How many amp-hours do...

pretty cool stuff. Few things I've noticed. they haven't got anywhere near finish...they need to make the bike functionable before they start converting it to electric. At their stage, no brake, no gears, no lights and no suspensions. With extra weights on the bike with battery, motor, controller ec...

Re: Doc's ULTIMATE TORQUE ARMS fit most of the frame UPDATE
I just PM'd for a set too :-) It's only a direct drive 36V 500W rear setup from Vpower.hk so not all that powerful anyway. My bike is a cheaparse Milazo full suspension, all steel. From that I can confidently say you wont need torque plate as strong as this one... but If you want one for the future...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor
I know some people must have thought about this but has anyone attempted to make a use of peltier? I think instead of trying to use ambient temperature to cool hub motor, we should be using something which is cold to cool hub motor. since the hub is designed to spin, we can use the peltier to cool d...

Hey All - another sad BMS Battery Alloy Shell Charger owner here. My 74v 600W unit smoked itself last night, and for no good reason. No abuse, kept a room fan blowing on it, they stayed inside and never got exposed to bad weather. I'm reading over the thread now, will try to figure out if I can fix...
