Re: Monzilla - BURNED IN LIPO FIRE AUGUST 11

fundamentally floont, the only thing that can make yourself and family TOTALLY safe is charging and storing the bike in a safe location like a small concrete structure away from your home/garage. There arent any non flammable batteries, just ones that are better/worse in circumstance A/B. My appartm...

mixing nozzle is just to know its being mixed like the factory wants it to... when you push it with a u shaped stick instead of the uselessly expensive applicator.

Re: A-Lines Abound: **more** new pictures!

hmmm i appreciate you efforts but tbh now i think i was wrong, it's six of one; the motor is hidden now and that was equally cool looking. Methinks the ideal would be a photoshop of the front and rear halves each at their best :P

Re: A-Lines Abound: Let it bleed

Love the shots!

If I might say, if you ever head back there with a camera, if the bike was only facing the other way, it would REALLY emphasize the lefty shock and look that tad bit more amazing imho. I wish the open space was facing us!

Re: First Build - Crystalite 5404 LiPo High Speed Commuter

Pelican 1300 mounted using weight clamps to the triple crown forks. Its a copy of a method another member came up with. It's almost certainly the best easiest solution for 24s lipo because you can just squeeze 24s3p into it.

O don't worry. I have my eye on your 6 phase jon... I would argue that for a commuting bike this is still in the higher speed echelon then calling it medium or slow speed :P

Re: First Build - Crystalite 5404 LiPo High Speed Commuter

that's about what we are aiming for MH. HAHAHA when did 80km/h+ on a bike become not "high speed" :P I think it will do closer to 90 with a 2.5+inch rear tire and top charge. I expect it to settle down to around 80-90 after it's cells are off the 4.2v and down to 4v. It's kv is almost the same as th...

Re: First Build - Crystalite 5404 LiPo High Speed Commuter

we are going to work like hell on this im openly interested to see if the brass washers hold up :P if not we will have to take a trip to an actual fastener depot :P... I'm guessing they will be ok if we set the wheel up properly trued and tensioned. Depending on the end result we may have to step it...

Re: 9c/HS35/X5 Norco 125 DJ 100v project

So I ended up fixing my x5304 about 5 times. Something is wrong with it. I swear i can't figure it out. Replaced the halls and phase. It seems to work for the first 500m even at hard accel and then gets jerky and dies. I think one of the halls is being rubbed to death or something every time. So I t...

I was running my 5403 with a 30s kelly and never quite saw over 120km/h with a 26 inch rim on flat. I wish you luck sir!

Re: What can your ride climb?

I have an x5403 in a 26 inch rim with 3 inch kenda flames. I run one of Zombiess 24 fet 100v controllers at 300 amps. My x5403 will pull up any grade you can keep the front down on. It will accelerate up as steep a hill as I can manage as fast as I want it too. It pushes itself up the stairs of my a...

Re: Total Noob - help too optimistic?

I would agree. Set your safety timer to the full ammount of turn it off. In the battery choice options look for an option that says something like "continue" or "stop" when TCS capacity is reached. Set it to continue. If you have a TCS option with a % setting I'd set it at 95%. This will charge your...

Re: Total Noob - help too optimistic?

looking through your battery posts, I think people have explained it but I'll do it one more time just in case. Parallel first, series second. You are looking to also parallel your balance taps so that you can balance while charging. You are looking to make 12s2p. So parallel first means two 6s chun...

Re: Specialized Big Hit FSR

paralel first then series is the consensus rodgah. I'd make 4 blocks of 6s 2p each with one balance and a + and -. Then I'd arrange my contactor to split the pack when it was off giving me two chunks of 12s 2p to charge. I can then balance each 12s group with a Hyperion charger, or charge both at on...

Re: Hub motor rewind hs60

I'm still working on it tbh :) I am hoping to start winding very very soon. I ended up leaving it with my teacher for machining and he took ages and then I was away from school and we never connected until about a month ago. The project is once again a priority for me since I just used up a motor an...

Re: Hub motor rewind hs60

I think you are referring to the way the copper is stacked in the slots? If you have a tiny slot or large wires and you can only fit two wire diameters in the slot, then you could wind it so that each tooth had one wire with multiple turns covering the tooth in a single layer of wire. If each tooth ...

The 5304 wil be faster since it has less stator width and the same turn count. The halls are easy to replace. I'm surprised your throttle and the rest blew but the controller is ok.

Re: 9c/HS35/X5 Norco 125 DJ 100v project

Ok.... it continues. I "fixed" the bike by redoing all the halls and the halls wiring, took it out for a ride and it just started getting rougher and rougher. It's obviously not a problem with the halls. So now I guess I really am worrying about cracked phase wires under the heat shrink. I'll redo t...

Re: 9c/HS35/X5 Norco 125 DJ 100v project

lol i think some of the details are getting lost; The motor works under load. It pushes me up to about 70km/h right now. It should do 95km/h. No load it will go to it's full speed it just shakes the hell out of the bike. Remember, I was using this bike when it went wrong. The ride started great and ...

Re: 9c/HS35/X5 Norco 125 DJ 100v project

Good news! It's not the controller; i plugged my old 18 fet in and it makes the same noise. Bad news; this means its the motor, and I am sure it's not the wiring. The motor will still spin to full rpm even with then noise; this is not a heavily shorted phase wire situation. So. WTF does that leave m...
