Re: Bafang bbs02 speed sensor

If I had that problem I would 3D print an adapter.

When I had that problem some time back I used a piece of PVC pipe, drilled some holes into it so it could be cable tied to the seatstay and sensor. Not very elegant, but it's still in place and working.

Re: Fast Electric Cargo Bike for my Bay Area Commute

I posted a few weeks ago asking some initial questions about building an ebike for my commute. I've updated my expectations and thought I'd make a new post with more information. I'd like to build a fast ebike for my commute. My Commute: https://www.strava.com/activities/2740310450 I can charge bat...

The new one fits pretty nicely. I'll wait for real parts to try it on the bike.

Re: Diamondback OverDrive 27.5 "RidgeRunner"

CAmountSliced.GIF I adjusted for the 0.2mm error after remeasuring a few times. The measurement did appear to be off by that amount. I checked the fit on the bike, and it seems to be about right. The angle of the Bafang display is parallel to the stem, so the present angle of this mount is the same...

Re: Understanding and Using EGO Power+ Batteries

Setting the LVC fairly high will probably work adequately with healthy packs.

Welcome to ES, by the way.

What plastic did you use for printing the mount?

Re: Diamondback OverDrive 27.5 "RidgeRunner"

CA mount 20191016_030505.jpg Amazing how things work out. Not bad for a first draft fit. It fits well enough to lift the CA with the friction, yet it is not very tight. At some point you have to stop measuring and playing with the CAD software and just make a print and see how it fits, then make ad...

Getting heat out of the motor is another performance area. Important if pushing the motor hard.

Re: 500w Vs 1000 watt DD hub motor

Ok muxus makes a 3,000 watt motor 45mm magmets qs makes a 3,000 watt motor 50mm magnets. The qs motor weighs more and would just bury the muxus. The wattage ratings are pretty fuzzy, so they can claim different ratings for the same hardware. In many cases they claim what their market demands, for ex...

Re: 500w Vs 1000 watt DD hub motor

From what I've read, when it comes to torque available with DD hubs, wider and taller rotors are better, all else being equal. Yes. The example I have is a CroMotor which is about twice the width of an average DD hubmotor. Major upgrade in torque. But the weight gain is a lot. The motor alone weigh...

Re: 500w 36V / 48v 1000 watt DD hub motor from winatlast1 ebay

Bought a 36v 1000w hub motor on ebay from seller winatlast1. Received a 36v 500w hub setup instead. I sent a message with pictures to seller. He or she told me they don't sell 36v 1000w hub and that I made a mistake. Funny thing is on my purchases page on ebay it says paid/sent items 36v 1000w hub ...

Re: 60 volt vs 72 volt

I put 18S 32AH on the Borg. Weighs about 24 pounds. Lipo. 2.1kWH And I have a range extender pack that I occasionally carried that adds 8 amp hours more bringing it to 2.6 kWH. I've got some 16AH lipos that I could use instead for 3.2 kWH. Depending on speed the range could be 100 miles or more. But...

Re: 60 volt vs 72 volt

I have some big triangle batteries, they are pretty heavy. Sometimes I think I'd be better off with some smaller batteries and parallel range extenders. Like the Luna Mighty Mini. If I have a 6ah mini and a 14 ah shark then I can have 6, 14 or 20 ah for the trip, and minimize weight. Configurable.

Nice.

Did you figure out a way to decode the BMS signal from the battery? So if a cell group goes low you'll know it before damaging the battery?

Re: 60 volt vs 72 volt

I would make the series pack have a bit higher amp-hour and current capacity than the main pack. That way the main pack will be the limitation, not the add-on. I've used Lipo for this, as long as it has more capacity than the main pack it can be run without a BMS since the main pack will always depl...

Re: RadCity Step-Thru Damaged Rear Wheel

You have quite a few choices Repair the wheel. have a machinist make a new axle. You may need new spokes and a new rim, depending on the damage. It will need to be trued and it may never be as it was unless rim and spokes are changed. Replace the wheel with a new OEM one, the cost is high but you sh...

Re: Drawing Power From Battery Charging Port

I think EM3EV said they use 2 port BMS's. If that's the case the charge port is just in parallel with the discharge port, they're not different. So the BMS is still in between both ports and the pack and there would be discharge protection on both ports. My Bioenno 12V packs are that way. If it is a...

Torque throttle in PAS should work fine. I've had problems with PAS on my setup, but I think there may be something wrong with my CA itself (has persisted with different firmware, in more or less (but not exactly) the same way). Presently PAS is disabled, and throttle is set to pass-thru, becuase o...

Re: Blown 2 KT controllers in a row

For the controller to blow the FETs the voltage or current ratings must be exceeded. If the controller is rated at 48V you are pushing the voltage ratings of the FETs. make shure the wiring from the battery to the controller is short and solid. Length from battery to controller is inductance that ad...
