Re: Cromotor issue... bad sound and lack of power

You'll find you dont need it. If for instance you have 500w rated motor, you will only see peaks of 1200+w for a couple of seconds even on hills when first accelerating. 500w is the constant power rating that it can handle continuously all day long. My cromotor is rated 6000w continuous and with pea...

Re: Cromotor issue... bad sound and lack of power

same happened to me. all loose magnets. glued back with locktight speedbond epoxy, so far so good, ~2 years later. Darn! What a pita. Looks like a complete strip down. Just as i am in the middle of building a new battpack with 30Q's. Ferrofluid does not seem like such a good idea now. @RTL, do you ...

Re: Cromotor issue... bad sound and lack of power

No clutch in a bldc direct hub Did you mark the side cover and make sure to install it in the same manner? Sounds like maybe a magnet broke loose Yeah , i know theres no clutch, just has sensation like clutch slipping. Yeah i marked the side covers and installed the same. Yeah, did occur to to me i...

Cromotor issue... bad sound and lack of power

Here’s the low down Cromotor, all good for past 2 years until now. added ferrofluid And hubsink, took for test ride, ok for 15 minutes doing hard start stops up to 120 amp to help heat motor and check temps. All good and then the sound came along. It happens with any sudden amp increase but not so i...

Re: Common pack design mistakes, how to avoid?

Maybe ok for 30a draw, but you may find over time that the cell voltages begin to drift apart as some cells are taking the strain more than others.... In theory.

Re: Neematic - 20kW middrive bike

It does seem it has missed its opportunity, and the price is high(maybe to become higher) compared to other middrive options out there now. Perhaps all the RnD will pay off in the end with a faultless and minding blowing bike, but the anticipation and hype has been long lost.

Re: Adaptto protect mode

I think a voltage spike can cause it, maybe from the throttle hall sensor. If the controller reads a high voltage reading it will go into protect. Try picking up the motor wheel off the ground and then opening the throttle without load and see if it powers up. Also, as you say just switch off and on...

Re: Any Tesla 18650 data sheets available from years gone by?

The critical thing for longevity of any 18650 cell is cooling - Tesla's cooling system is rather good, and it strives to maintain the cells at a constant 25'C (+/- 5'C) for as much of the cells life as possible. Pretty much any cell will live a long life if thermally managed. So yeah, there's nothi...

Re: Any Tesla 18650 data sheets available from years gone by?

Thanks, yeah i did a bit of digging on here and elewhere on the web. It seems there have been at least a couple of differing cells used over the years. It would be nice to know how the cells differ from the standard panasonic cells of equal capacity and discharge. I have seen test claims stating fro...

Any Tesla 18650 data sheets available from years gone by?

Is there any info out there that correctly states how tesla car cells may have been different to average Panasonic 18650 cells? And is there any official data stating the AH and discharge rating of any of the tesla cells used over the past 6-7 years in their cars? I need to know whether if it is wor...

These cells have a build date of September 2012 correct? If so would you consider revising the cell multiple prices as they are way out of whack with the module price otherwise I would only be tempted if I can split a module with someone @brumbrum If you are in the U.K and the cells are powerful en...

Re: Advanced ADAPTTO controllers and compatible products

My maxe went back twice during the warranty period. First time after it went up in a puff of smoke on install. Adaptto honoured warranty and actually told me there was a loose wire inside that caused a short. Second time after almost a year of use it just went dead while charging (charging procedure...

Cool, the multistar 16ah are good for 4c constant discharge so you can pull 128amps from them without any worries what so ever and even higher peaks.

My guess, and its only a guess, it will be eaxctly the same as the welder you have already, just with different shell.
It would be interesting to see how many parts differ inside if you remove the covers and compare.
I hope it works out for you, best of luck.

Re: Strong hand-held spot welder?

Why cant you just make your own probes with 6awg silcone wire and some crimped and screwed on pure copper electrode ends? Btw, the jp spot welder seller will supply you with just the copper electrodes or cables if you wanted. Though silicone covered cables would be more suitable if do a lot of weldi...
