Re: Tesla Model 3

True, the gigafactory is their ace card at the moment. I think they will need to keep innovating or die - keep pushing the tech. Performance they have pretty much nailed, but next-gen battery would be a good one. AFAIK they are investing in people/research/startups on this so good luck to them and ...

Re: 2 Speed Xiongda hubmotor

Bruce Teakle has a new video on you tube "Xiongda 2- speed hub motor with slipping motor magnets" link on the video to his blog on how he fixed it. He was lubricating and cooling the motor with ATF but does not know if the ATF caused the magnets to loosen because he has run another Xiongda with ATF...

Re: My Sun Trip Bike, Back to Back Tandem Trike with Rowing Generator, Pedals, +Solar

If you decide to go without an MPPT controller you'll have to worry about temperatures as well as string lengths and orientations, since Si PV cells have a pretty strong negative temperature coefficient with respect to voltage. You can choose worst-case temperatures and design for that of course bu...

Re: Tesla Model 3

Starting today at Giga and tomorrow at Fremont, we will be stopping for three to five days to do a comprehensive set of upgrades. This should set us up for Model 3 production of 3000 to 4000 per week next month. Another set of upgrades starting in late May should be enough to unlock production capa...

Re: Arc explosion on first time build test

I connected the positive banana plug first. An explosion occurred when I connected the negative . It gave off a very large spark (arc?), I think it was purple in color but I'm not sure since it was momentary. Burnt stuff got sprayed everywhere, and ground zero was covered n soot(?), as were my hand...

Apparently my courier got 2 boxes with, what appears to be, 24 LTO cells. Shipping only took 4 days to Miami. Nice! :D

Invo, what is the best way to punch the tab?
How do you deal with the oxide layer on the tab, before assembly? (Any procedure or product recommendation)

Thank you.

Re: QS MOTOR,0.5-14kW Electric Hub Motor Manufacture China

That´s just what he said. Seems like Im gonna have to sell his 1000 Watt 135mm QS motor and buy a 130mm one instead Yeh, those bolts will definitely destroy the wire. If you do not want to spread frame, just flexing a little while inserting the wheel with washers (not bending actually), then there ...

Re: Industrial Motor gokart build

Yes, that why. I suppose it is 24V/41A=0.585Ohm motor, in dynamic state. At 43.2V/0.585Ohm=73.8A. And finally, 43.2Vx73.8A=3188W.
You certainly can throw all you wish at it, but need to raise the voltage correspondingly.

I suppose, your motor will deal at ~3KW, right?

The problem I have right now is, that the distance for the cable between brake rotor and dropout is too small.
Can you make a picture?
On their (this) page the cable is on chain side BTW.

Yeah, it is the right practice and matched if possible. Must say, I did not follow this rule in some cases and got away with. :?

Re: 6 wire alternator conversion

They where terminated in star, which is pretty nice. No parasitic recirculating current and you can use higher voltage. I can be wrong, but it looks like the winding sets are shifted, you will need to use 2 controllers in different timing, hopefully they will not interfere/trigger each other. Can yo...

Re: 6 wire alternator conversion

It doesn't have 6 phases. It's just that the end of the windings hasn't been terminated as Delta or WYE. Do your termination in whichever configuration you desire, leaving you with 3 phase wires. There would be continuity in pairs if the windings are not terminated. He has continuity between 3 wires.

Re: KWeld vs Arduino Spot Welder

In my understanding, KWeld is discharge energy based welder, it does not need 2 pulses and welds will be more consistent, as they do not depend much on contact and time consistency, every weld receives same amount of energy, time is the variable. Time fixed welds can vary from one to other because o...

Or just go to Settings>Setting Visibility and in 'Shell' check "Wall line Count","Top Layers" and "Bottom Layers". After that you get new fields in Cura settings list, line count change will recalculate shell thickness automatically.
