Re: bluetooth BMS?

Just few personal observations about BT modules in general. 1)Some just do not pair to specific devices. Have not found solution for that. 2)Some pair but do not connect to specific devices. Have not found solution for that. 3)Some will not reconnect twice on specific devices. Must forget the BT mod...

Re: bluetooth BMS?

The biggest problem is the brazilian customs clearance. The package usually arrives here in Brazil with 2 weeks and the customs takes more than 40 business days to process it. So, sometimes it's impossible to build any electronic thing that you need to import a part. Look out for courier company wi...

Re: My brushless motor is getting very hot after few minutes running

My ESC just 6S, can you recommend gear for best performance and efficiency? I don't required it must run too fast Try to adjust gearing to the point where your top speed requirement matches top motor speed. For 30kmh 1:7 maybe. P.S. It already accounts for 80% of no load rpm, where you motor delive...

Re: My brushless motor is getting very hot after few minutes running

My quick calc came to 6720rpm on motor at ~55km/h.
It is small motor, resulting system is underpowered and under geared, I would shut for ~ 10000rpm unloaded and gearing for 30km/h max.

Which is 9s battery and gearing 1:10.

Re: My brushless motor is getting very hot after few minutes running

In your case, it probably means, your motor does not reach enough rpm to work efficiently. What kv is your motor? What is your driven wheel diameter? What is your top speed?

For pedal system check this video - Kick Pedal System Assembly
And that totally screws the gear ratio to the motor. Ingenious!

I was looking some noise comparisons on youtube and noticed how much quieter ePropulsion next to Torqueedo is. I went to ePropulsion official site, they showed their "gearbox free" system. Possibly an outrunner? (i didnt find anything about dimentions but it doesnt look 2 bulky, not sure) http://ww...

Hey, did you get further in your experiments ? I'm looking to try something too and actually knowing how I should install laminations would be a great + ! No. I just mounted the motor into 18"x 2.5" motorcycle wheel and on Suzuki AX100 chassis and did ride it 1 time, noticed no excessive loses on u...

Do not worry about that, 3D printing software does this at mouse click, at least Cura has mirroring option.

Re: Trolling motor with ESC?

Doesn't it pull more current when running higher voltage ? Yes, but at 24V only ~37A max can go IN the motor. I also have a feeling that original/intern controller still tries to regulate something at full/5 position, sometimes it limits the current at ~37A at 36V as well. To get rid of this glitch...

Re: Trolling motor with ESC?

Will it do 50-60 A for longer periods? Because that is what a 86 lbs 24 v trolling motor will pull on full throttle. First one, I believe, yes, its 100A max and 60A continuous. Have it on wish list. Mine (white plastic box), did hold continuous 50A at ~33V Out for ~30 min last Sunday, but it was ve...

Re: AVIAN featherweight mid drive

So far I see only NAYS. Any YEA? There is also a tread, where best EE brains of ES explain, why cables from the battery to a controller should be as short as possible. The problem is the inductance created in them and the longer they get, more capacitance is needed on Fets side to tame the induced ...

Capacitors should be as close possible to the Fets and they make no sense on battery side. Without caps evening the ripple current you probably will burn the fets on first loaded switching cycle.

machining a new bell in POM. Nice, POM seems to be a good choice, that I was ignorant about till now. Did you get the motor starting to spin under load (in water)? Many people got no success with sensor-less set up, loaded start, which is easily solved by adding (epoxying in) sensors and connecting...

Ecyclist made some small hypocycloidal transmissions recently, those things can be tinny as you need and handle ridiculous torque, power and gear rates (there is a guy with 1:1bilion rate transmission on youtube, smaller then my fist). All this at over 90% efficiencies and unprecedented durability, ...

Re: Buick Lacrosse 2012 e-assist moto-alternator

Yes, during the first tests with the star topology I got 15HP at 55V (Pb battery), and recently 20HP at 85V (LIPO), so for having more power you either need more voltage (which makes the inverter more expensive) or you need a lower voltage motor (then you need more current to get the same torque). ...
