Re: Big lead acid single cell capacities

Well a few years later and they are still running . Kept charged by a measly 300 what of solar cells. I checked the fluid levels in them last month.. I did them when I put them in...whenever this post was new..and only again this year, Need about 30 litres of distilled water :( No plates were uncove...

Legacy Cytronex NiMh 12 pin wiring. Info thread and a story

Just had the misfortune to have to look at a Cytronex bike , a kit built on a nice little Cannondale Motor labelled as 180W 36 volt front motor, geared Three magnets on RSH of motor and sensor on the crank Unknown controller looks 6 FET, stuck under th bottom bracket. two nice little switches on the...

Re: Info on stripping a DNP Epoch freewheel

There are abundant cassettes available with 11t high gear-- probably most of them. But what you have isn't a cassette. It's a freewheel. Your wheel can only take one or the other, and most hub motors take freewheels. Ah well OK , I got it the wrong way around. So in that case, when I did that, how ...

Re: Info on stripping a DNP Epoch freewheel

Seem to remember that there was no other option at the time. Think it was that there were no other cassettes available with an 11 tooth . There was a shimano that was made but almost impossible to find, and if you could find New old Stock, they were selling for hundreds of dollars. The DNP was the o...

I honestly have no idea now, sorry

Good luck

Re: Adding PAS to EM3EV controller

I'd probably wire the PAS to these.
+5v red
GND 6 to black
TA to the other one

Re: Adding PAS to EM3EV controller

The following question is about pas connection without any display: Yes, I fully understand that Is the TA as seen (foto) there, is it compatible with my pas (standart) with magnets? Absolutely no way I can say for sure..the only way is to try it and see and risk damaging something if wrong. It pro...

Re: Adding PAS to EM3EV controller

I f you want to open your controller and look, you might be lucky... If it happens to be labelled PAS, then you'd need to solder a wire to that pad, and another from a 5 volt feed and another to ground Get it wrong and you will of course risk screwing the controller on that controller it was labelle...

Re: Adding PAS to EM3EV controller

]Thanks, but it's still not enough, one told me that if I'm wrong I could do damage, the socket of the controller where I should connect the 3 wires of the pas is this: 1 Battery Voltage Vcc-L (red (I think it's battery indicator, my 48v., and I do not need to use it) 2 GND / Shunt + ve (black) 3 S...

Re: Adding PAS to EM3EV controller

Exactly as Amberwolf says, you can’t connect it to the 6 pin CA connector It can only be connected to the dedicated PAS connector. If you don’t have one, as he says, there maybe a PAS pad on the board, but I’d guess that at your level of knowledge of this stuff, you have slim to zero chance of findi...

But any PAS with 3 wires will be basic

Ground

Re: 9 FET 72V Infineon Brushless Controller (LYEN's Edition) $89

If it is dropping to low voltage then coming back up, then that is the Battery management system circuit board (BMS) within the battery pack shutting off the battery output when under load. Either because of too high current , possibly too high battery temperature, or most likely, one cell in the ba...

yes, I found the 20-200 volt optional reference too,
Wondering if a resistor mod does the swap to 200v ??

Re: Creating MOSFET switch to run lights Raleigh Trail XC

This has three wires. grad 12 volt Data line. The bike is 36 volt and there is no battery voltage at the display/ control unit. Only 12 vol tin and the data out. So it does seem that originally any light switching was done at the controller, but this controller does not appear to have that facility....

Re: Creating MOSFET switch to run lights Raleigh Trail XC

I had been told on the Pedelec forum that there was in fact an actual switch output of battery voltage on the board, and not via a switched encoded signal to the the controller to switch the light. The opinion was that some of the bikes with OEM lights did take power direct from the handle bar unit....

Hi guys I just picked up for free a generic Rayleigh Velo trail e-bike...low powers from geared hub 36 volt PAS only bike It has a little 3 button handle bar control unit As in pics below Power Assist level lights on/off Now even the manual says that the lighting part is not connected on this bike.....

Trickle current for BMS balance charging

Can someone confirm what I am thinking ...regarding charging LiPo with a BMS with a single cell balancing current of 168mA (+/- 20mA). BesTech HCX-D131 If I want to ensure a nice balancing charge, I'd set up a charger to charge at that sort of current, so if I set a charge current of say 125mA I'd g...

Just trying to figure out if hall timing shifts the phase waves relative to eachother No, or if it shifts all of them together. Re: Timing Adjustment Tool

The tool actually creates a synthisised hall signal..it does nto actually 'capture' and send out the original. Also it does actually 'advance' the timing..that would be impossible without the ability to see in to the future. In effect, it see s the incoming signals (it intercepts all three) then del...
