Re: How many Hall / Phase Combinsations are there......?

What about direction@ Out of the 6, three forward and three reverse. All that only works if the timing is balanced. I've had motors where no combinations worked with KT controllers and the same motor would only run in reverse with self-learning controllers no matter what combination was connected. ...

Re: Controller problem: no led blink

No LED blink normally means no power on the ignition wire. You don't provide enough information for us to help further. We need to see all the connections, and we need to know which controller it is and which control panel you're using.

Re: Overcurrent protection on battery, nothing works now

One or more blown MOSFETs in the controller willdo that. Disconnect the controller and measure the resistance between the black battery wire and each of the three motor phase wires, then repeat for the red battery wire to get 6 readings. Each group of three should be the same as each other.

Re: 6-wire controller to 5-wire throttle

That's it. All throttles work with only three wires: 5V, ground and throttle signal. That's all you need to connect, regardless of how many wires in the connector. Some throttles have a switch, which means two additional independent wires. You don't have to use the switch, but you can use it as an o...

That's how to do it. Don't forget to disconnect for charging otherwise the battery you charge will charge the other through the discharge terminals, which bypasses all the charge safety controls.

We need a bit more info about how it failed. Was it OK when you parked it the night before, then didn't work in the morning or did it give some symptoms when riding? was your last ride wet? Did you disconnect or connect any wires? Most important of all, were the green self-learning wires connected w...

Re: Help- 48v 20ah battery not balanced.

Those cell voltages are all over the place, I wouldn't hold out too much hope of getting it working properly. They don't go like that for no reason. You need to look more closely at that high cell group. Most likely one or more of the welds are broken or one or more cells are leaking.

Re: Adding second battery to BionX system.

You can't connect directly to the power connector. You must leave the original battery connected and use your new battery as a range extender by connecting it in parallel. The two batteries must be the same voltage when you connect them and you must disconnect the range extender when you charge eith...

Re: Finished project: Super Light Carbon Ebike

Double hall pedal sensors are usually handed. Take it off the bike and test it 4 ways: 2 ways of magnet disk orientation (flip) and 2 ways of rotation (clockwise and anticlockwise). Only one of the 4 possibilities will work. When you know which way, you know how to install it on the crank.

There's a fair probability that that battery uses some sort of communication with the controller, and/or it has remote switching. If you're re-celling the battery, it's best to use the original BMS and wire it the same as it was. tell us what you're trying to do so that it's easier for us to give yo...

Re: Bafang eBrake problem and maybe Cycle Analyst

I don't think that's right. The break signal wires are held at 5v by a pull-up resistor. The brake switch pulls it down to ground. That means that the signal is normally high, and when it's pulled low by the switch, power is cut. The problem is that you can't normally connect 5v wires from two diffe...

Re: Building a light ebike with Q100 motor : advices ?

You don't need the motor cable because it already comes with one and there are better BMSs. On Aliexpress/Ebay, there are some good small ones that give 20A and have all the functions you need. You don't need that LCD wire either. Did you see this battery I made? https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/thr...

Re: I need a brake

I meant for you to show us the bike and electrics, not the brake. A new battery isn't enough. You need a controller that can supply over 30 amps and a battery capable of providing what ever current your controller allows. It's the controller that determines how much power you get, and the other comp...

Re: I need a brake

That motor will give you less power than your old one unless you changed both the battery and the controller at the same time. A better solution would have been to keep your old motor and upgrade to a 48v battery and 20 amp controller, assuming that you have/had 36V. Can you explain exactly what you...

Re: KT-LCD3 & PAS not functioning

Everything is correct. You have P3=1, which gives power control, where each level of PAS gives a different level of power without speed limit, so with no load the wheel will spin to maximum speed. This should be no problem because when you ride the bike, the low power on the level 1 is not enough to...

Re: Hub motor won't spin no matter what i do

If you have a controller with automatic phase and hall sequence detection, it doesn’t matter how you connect the wires, you always get the same result, like always spinning backwards, and no way to fix it unless the controller has the self-learning wires too.

Re: Need help bafang hub 48v500w kt-lcd8

Your controller configuration is correct with P2=1. That is the setting to use a motor's internal speed sensor or an external wheel speed sensor. You can set P2=0, which will take the speed signal from the motor, but it will only show you the speed when the motor is driving the bike. Your motor shou...

I've got a KT controller that goes nuts trying to display speed when motor is running. Works OK when coasting on the external speed sensor. It's not a Q100 motor and I have the wrong P1 setting not knowing either magnet count or gear ratio. If I spin the motor backward and count the number of toggl...

Re: Smallest controller available for a Q100 hub motor ?

You should be looking at a KT sine wave 6 FET controller with LCD (LCD often has to be bought separately). They're about the smallest normal controllers you can get and best for PAS. Don't get a cheap Ebay one because they usually have terrible PAS functions. You can get one from BMSbattery, listed ...

It's easier to start with a higher voltage battery, then you get more speed throughout the discharge range of the battery. If you have a 48v one (13s), get a 52v one (14s).

Re: Disadvantages of front wheel drive for ebike?

Always fit the motor in the back wheel if you can. A front motor looks simpler and if done properly, it can work quite well, but if not done properly, it can be very dangerous and expensive. As a general rule, front motors should only be fitted in steel forks, except that low power ones are OK in al...
