Re: Is better to charge the battery only to 80%?

Running a cold battery provides greatly reduced performance, usable capacity and lifespan. Long term only, store battery at cold (~ 40ºF) and <50% capacity. Charge and use battery at ~ 70ºF, recommended. (85ºF battery discharge demonstrates noticeable improvement, but much higher discharge temperatu...

Re: Raised Bed Gardening - Cement Blocks!

LEDs on timer, 16 hours per day.

Will plant later or larger pots for each seedling.
Mid March was too early for mid-May transplant?
Some got too big and rooty which seemed to prolong transition from transplant.
They seemed to stunt a bit before growth explosion.

Re: Raised Bed Gardening - Cement Blocks!

I built a 5 shelf Grow tower with 6000-6500K LED strips and we had a seed starting party after mid-March. Transplanted outside in early-mid May. Some limited number of additional seedlings from local greenhouses or stores. https://scontent-ort2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/29261525_10208882142525926_5829...

Re: Winterized

I've considered warming up gloves etc, but think 12V waterproof 3528 led strips would be my preference.
Very soft and flexible when warm, plenty of cheap "dimmers" to regulate warmth, and can turn inside out for putting on a show.

Re: Raised Bed Gardening - Cement Blocks!

Too early to be posting gardening tips, but I have a couple garden projects in the works. Side dumping wagon Most of our beds, wooden or blocks, are <36" between, making dumping wheelbarrow loads of compost or dirt awkward, to say the least. 1st thought was adding a side hinged large plastic mortor ...

Re: Ebikeling 500w Geared Hub Kit

Controller has 63V caps.

Motor is designed, gears windings etc, for reasonable durability-lifespan at 36V.
With upgraded controller, might run at 72V ... briefly.

Re: Any advantage of one layout over the other?

With a 200A controller, you will need an absolute minimum of >200A fuse!
200A fuse "burns up" at 200A, near 200A there is excessive heat and resistance.
300A recommended.
