Re: E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

Rix, Thank you for the kind words, but Recumpence deserves the credit for that, I just measured his beautiful design and inputted into the computer. I have nothing to show yet, I am still in the head scratching phase. I have the drive unit modeled in the computer and have been attempting to find a w...

It is in the works, and I will post anything here as it comes. Any input from the ES community is appreciated and will be taken into considera...

Re: E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

Some new stuff is in the works for 2015, including a bolt in DaVinci drive option for the Phasor frame, a collaboration between Recumpence and I. It will likely be quite different from the original Phasor frame, I will post updates as they come along. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt243/ToobTim...

Re: E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

Someone asked me how many could be fit in the frame so I figured this information would be helpful here. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt243/ToobTime/18650s_zps06e2f3ce.jpg 20mm diameter batteries representing 18650's shown in a hexagonal closest packed lattice. Re: E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

After having some fun with the BMC V4 at 84V, I decided to reconfigure the 20s3p battery pack into a more practical 10s6p pack. While not being as fast, I will have more usable range since I won't have to worry about overheating the motor. With the 20s setup the motor would heat up quickly within us...

Re: E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

Is this normal? Seems like the swingarm fastening is wider than the frame slot It will go in, the openings are 1.25" and the width of the swingarm where it attaches is 1.25", so even .005" of powdercoat will give you trouble. Here is how I have done it, Try shaving some powdercoat down with a razor...

Re: E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

I went down the oil path with my Bafang powered Fighter. What a nightmare. Tried to seal it the best I could but couldn't stop the oil leaks. What a mess. Worst part was oil getting on the brakes. Waisted weeks trying to get it to work. Ended up giving up and going back to grease filled. I read thr...

Re: E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

Your Phasor looks great. I was wondering if you used House of Kolor (spelled with K) or some other type paint where your Phasor looks blue, but in direct sunlight, it turns purple? Also, casting a motor shell with vents could be the way to go. Not sure, but have toyed with venting a geared hub? Has...

This motor pops the wheel up from a stop (with a little lean or pedal assist) better than the bike with the torque motor, but I could feel that the motor doesn't like that, and doing that repeatedly...

Re: E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

Nice built. What will happen with the balance port once you get to drive this bike in the dirt? Won't it be covered with nice and slimy mud? That area usually stays pretty clean, I did search around for some sort of dust boot / cover for that, I know they have to be out there. For the dirt, there i...

Re: E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

Hello all, Some interesting builds happening here, great to see the diversity in what everyone comes up with. More in the works coming soon. I have heard some of your feedback, I will now include an allen stub that can be chucked up into a drill so the panels can be removed quickly. Using this metho...

Re: E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

I have made some revisions for the next run of frames based on feedback I have received from customers, just a few minor changes. I have added a slot to make tightening the seat post easier / possible. With the emergence of the Cromotor and it's ilk, I widened the swingarm and added a little beef to...

Re: E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

You are right the preload adjustment will stiffen it up, I am just saying it doesn't change the spring rate, or how much force is required to compress the spring a given distance. If you preload a 500lb/in spring, it is still a 500lb/in spring.

Re: E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

http://service.foxracingshox.com/consumers/Content/mtbspringratecalculator.htm If I type in your parameters here it says to use a 500lb spring, so I would try the one you have out before you buy anything else. inputs: weight - 90 + 150 = 240lbs rear wheel travel = 8.1" shock stroke = 3" sag - 25% A...

Re: E-S Phasor Electric Bike Owners

Assuming you have a 24s battery pack, then you have 24 cells *3.7 Volts per cell = 88.8 Volts nominal. At full charge of 4.2 Volts per cell you have 24cells * 4.2 Volts per cell = 100.8 Volts hot off the charger. If you choose a cutoff voltage of say 3.3 Volts per cell, they your cutoff voltage will...

Re: Enclosed pedal electric tadpole trike

Please be realistic about the safe operating envelope for such a contraption. I had to laugh and post this up, this is something I have thought about and messed around with a couple times, when I saved the files I didn't know what to call it, so I saved it as 'the contraption'. This would definitel...

My 4th electric bike build, a low key electric cruiser. The basket can still hold up to a 12 pack of ..uh...sodas. A critical consideration when deciding where to put everything. This is the only before picture I have, showing the reinforced dropouts welded on the fork. http://i616.photobucket.com/a...

Frame#01 almost ready I machined a few more parts, some brass inserts that will prevent weld from penetrating where you don't want it to, and save from having to do any grinding. http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt243/ToobTime/2012-05-30_18-19-21_998.jpg http://i616.photobucket.com/albums/tt243/To...

Finally have enough parts to get started building. Here is a time lapse of the first steps of building a swingarm. Handbuillt in the USA. Not really, didn't get a chance yesterday. Weather was nice, not so much today it has been raining all day. We did finally get the fork spring in the mail so the bike is ready to go and I cannot wait to get on the trails with it. I hope to get out during the week sometime. I have been putting some m...
