Check out Zero's Police!

This is pretty cool, now Tesla just needs to make Model S for police officers too.

Re: earthships

I just came across this post tonight, wish I would have found it earlier, some great conversation and idea's by all. I just heard about earthships for the first time this summer when two of my wife's friends asked if I wanted to come with them to seatle in september to meet Michael Reynolds for a we...

Re: Oil cooling your hub- NOT snake oil!

So what's the most power any of you have been getting out of your geared hubs reliably after oil cooling them? I'm looking at replacing my controller so might be running 60v and 40 amps.... But could always tame it down a little with the cycle analyst. What do you guys think? I have a BMC v2t in a 2...

Re: Going into phase 3 with Kona Stink-E. Advice needed

Hey Drunkskunk thanks for the reply. So you don't think my BMC would survive very long if I oil cool it and install a temp gauge? I do peddle all the time when I'm riding And most of the hills around here I'm usually up them and of the throttle in less than 10 mins. Or you don't think a DD in a 24" ...

Re: Going into phase 3 with Kona Stink-E. Advice needed

And here is the wheel I bought used recently that if I go DD I plan to you use. The tire that came with it looks pretty good and looks like a nice strong beefy rim. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v462/Kruncheroo/IMG_20130903_084505.jpg and here it is next to my original 26" for comparison. http:/...

Going into phase 3 with Kona Stink-E. Advice needed

It's time that I take the Kona Stink-E into phase 3 a little sooner than planned because it looks like either I pushed the controller a little too far. I really don't think it was the motor, but I can't be sure yet. I'll have to investigate a little more soon. Anyways this is what I've got so far: B...

This is really amazing. Thanks for posting this as I'm not sure if I would have stumbled upon this myself, although I have brought up the idea of starting an indoor garden to my wife for the winter months....I might have to keep working on getting the other house projects done before she's onboard w...

Re: SRI EV1 Electric Off Road Racer - SRD - EV West

Wow, I'm really impressed. I just reposted that on a local 4x4 forum that I belonged to and used to post to quite often before I sold my Jeep. Before selling it, I really thought if I could afoard to make it electric, that would be amazing. I even think that if Jeep and Tesla got together, they coul...

Re: Anyone drive their ebike standing on the side?

I know what you mean, I love riding my bike on one pedal, except I do it with my left leg on the left pedal, like I usually do it while riding normal and then swinging my right leg over, that make sense? Try taking some corners in a parking lot with your heel slightly dragging, it's a little dangero...

Re: abusing geared hub motors

It is a real shame that no bigger geared motor has came out in like >5 years now :( I aggree, a bigger geared motor would be awesome! I think I'm about to give the oil cooling a try with my bmc v2t. My max power right now won't be too crazy, as my controller is limited to 25amps, so around 1500 wat...

Re: weight loss

Wow, that's awesome. I've been without a battery all summer, so I've been just riding my bike without electricity and eating healthy and dropped nearly 40 lbs too. But need to get back on track as I've eased off on the excercising and wise choices eating lately, so I've been lingering around the sam...

Re: 1St ebike done, now onto revision 2 on Kona Stinky fra

I'm thinking I'll be keeping my battery requirements to 16s, or 15s. I'm just not sure what packs I'm going to use. Option 1: 59.2V 10AH $180 (8 packs) 59.2V 15AH $270 (12packs) I'm tempted by getting the best bang for the buck by getting either 8 or 12 packs of the 4s Turnigy hard case packs. http:...

Re: 1St ebike done, now onto revision 2 on Kona Stinky fra

does anyone know if my crystalite controller can handle up to 72 V, does it have a little give? Like if I have 18s 66.6 volts, hot off the charger, wouldn't that bring the total a little higher than my controller can handle? Or, does that nothing to worry about? Or am I better off with something lik...

Thanks for the quick replies guys. I am aware that lipo has more risks, but sounds like if treated right they are just fine. Good to know about the nano tech, i just really wish there were some regular turnigys that came in 8ah packs I never considered 5s packs, they sond like a good match too. So w...

Re: Getting ready for my First Ebike, Now version 2.0!

UPDATE This is long overdue I did the Trek bike first. I had a 48v10ah pack mounted to the back rack. LifePo4. I rode the bike for a few months, it was ok, but some power issues (more on that later) and didn't like the lack of breaking power and really felt like a rough ride going at speed down hill...
