Re: Build a 5m rotor diameter

Hillhater, I am meaning 12V hubmotor spinning at 5X the nominal speed so it will be 60V, rated current will be about 42A. The hub motor is a huge electric motor, the power is low because the RPM is very low, but I think nothing prevents the engine from spinning much faster than it does on a bike. th...

I like horizontal wind turbines. About hub motor, I see hub motors very simple, reliable and cheap. I am thinking about use a 500W 12V hub motor at 5X the nominal speed to get 2500W, it is very big motor, i think 2500W is not problem if it spin 5 times faster.

Build a 5m rotor diameter

I'm thinking of starting a serious project In my opinion if you build a wind turbine you have to make it big, What do you think? Rotor diameter = 5m A 5m rotor can get more than 5000W but I would like to optimize for slow wind, about 6m/s, I am calculating 2500W or so. I am thinking to build blades ...

Re: small and light but powerful middrive?

I will receive one of those kits next week, I have bought a 1680w kit and a 3000w with 60A Bluetooth controller.
Perhaps i have to try the 60A controller with the 1680W motor

How do you get 5000W with this motor? What current and voltage do you use? Which controller do you use?

small and light but powerful middrive?

Hello, I am thinking about a powerful invisible middrive and i have found this product from GNG Electric. I think it is good idea, probably it is smaller, i am thinking about use RC helicopter brushless motors, this motors can get a power peak of about 6000W and a continuous 3000W (i have tested a h...

Re: PARADOX KINETICS

It is an interesting design to get very light and small mid drive with very big power output but someone knows if it has a planetary gearbox after primary belt drive? I mean i count this tooth ratios: 48:14 35:14 if there are no planetary gearbox between this then total gear ratio is only 1:8.5 with...

Re: my ebike project, the cortex-bike 2.0!

Wheazel: The geometry is inspired in several bikes, this suspension is similar to SantaCruz V10, I bought the linkage software, it is very interesting software, it is really fast to develop a suspension mechanism because you can draw the link points. This mechanism works very similar to santacruz V1...

my ebike project, the cortex-bike 2.0!

I want to build this, what do you think? 1.PNG 3.PNG The initial idea is a bike to make electric enduro. It is a bike similar to the steath B52, Vector, Qulbix Q76R, Bultaco Brinco. Neematic ... Thanks rolf_w, EMRAX seems a great product I have also asked EMRAX, 2400 is a reasonable price for well build axial flux 50kW (33kw continues) power motor. geigerengineering seems more expensive (comparatively) http://www.flytec.ch/e-drive/home.htm 10kW $2700 + drive $1680 + batteries!, 8kw = 3000â...
