Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Strange that with a PWM at 254 you only have 300W motor. That is not strang. Please tell also what is the erps value when you measured the other values. Just saw the previous message, where the erps value is 480. Our motors has 16 magnets, so 8 pairs of them. Motor max rpm is 4000 at 48V. So, (4000...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

on TSDZ2 is even different the FOC implementation. Ah, I remember, you calculate the advance angle from battery current and erps :-) And here are the comments I wrote on TSDZ2 firmware sources, including the part to calculate the total phase current, as did mention before: // FOC implementation by ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I managed to do some good testing of 0.18.2 in the past 3 weeks. A strange thing that I noticed is that in some cases even if the human power increases, the motor power in W drops. This happens at higher speeds. Also if I use assist of 0.6 and assist of 4 it is almost same difficulty to pass 42-43 ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

In our code, we use a simplifyed way of FOC by controlling the zero-crossing of a single phase current. You mean that on KT motor controllers because on TSDZ2 is even different the FOC implementation. Also, on KT there is hardware to fast read the motor total phase current and so we can control it....

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

Thank you stancecoke for your explanations, I continue to improve my understanding of the source code, I still have a little trouble distinguishing the difference between battery current and motor current, but I keep persevering. Motor current would be the motor phase currents but the hardware can ...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

For what I remember, my 48V motor, could sustain about 10 amps continuously but above that would pass the 85 degrees that I consider the limit. When I demagnetized my motor, I was pushing at max current (like 18 amps) because I wanted to discharge my battery pack as fast as I could (I wanted to meas...

Rydon, please test the new version: https://github.com/OpenSource-EBike-firmware/TSDZ2-Smart-EBike/releases/tag/v0.19.0-beta1 Ok, is there any documentation for the menus in version 19? When pedaling backwards, motor power is cut off. Note that the motor resistance is still there. If you know the m...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

marcoq version had a sort of major update that includes also the VLCD5 compatibility and the backwards resistance sorted. He released it only on the Italian forum by now, for the first tests. He followed the suggestion to disable the PWM :D #if ENABLE_BACKWARDS_RESISTANCE_OFF // stop pwm motor: if(...

Re: New "TSDZ2 Torque Sensor Central Motor"

That said, given your description of the TSDZ2 performance, I do wonder if you haven't already destroyed the magnets within the motor, through overheating the motor magnets at some point? That would cause a loss of efficiency, a lot of the energy going to the motor, to produce relatively little mot...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

In short the criteria for the backwards resistance is: bike is not moving (speed=0) and no forces on pedals. Unfortunately I didn't test myself due to lack of time but a user reported that the resistance is now gone. Many thanks for the update!!! I was looking at the code and it always disable PWM ...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I think is great NIPSEN that is trying to give new ideas and yes, at startup we are multipling torque sensor for assist level factor, which is strange because assist level is for a power factor... Anyway, I think would be to confuse to have another factor to configure on LCD3. Also, startup boost c...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

I'm not sure this is the correct thread but I have a problem with my TDZS2 and I'm hoping someone can give me some pointers. I have the 36v 8-pin version with VLCD5 which worked fine. I decided to hook-up a KT-LCD3 and load the open-source firmware. I bought a new 8-pin cable and soldered it direct...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

We simply find that the engine speed is proportional to the voltage applied, i.e. the constant Kv. Again, this is only correct for idle running. The higher the load, the lower the speed at constant voltage... I think the BEMF voltage varies constantly with the speed. But there is no advantage to ca...

Re: TSDZ2 mid drive -- Flexible OpenSource firmware for TongSheng TSDZ2 mid drive motor

the tsdz2 with original software is not even comparable to a modern mtb if you need to use the new firmware under the same conditions as the original where the advantage lies? Go with KT-LCD3 and 850C firmware is far from having stable version.

Yes it's Not correct, any cyclist whith other ebike. the problem for me is very serious, because it also occurs on the road at only 10 degrees of ambient temperature. the speed was around 9-11 km / h I could decrease the assistance but then I am very slow and probably when the temperature goes above 20 degrees even this will not be enough. it also pr...

any ideas to cool the engine? I installed a thermometer and after an off-road ride I read 102 ° ... To go home I did 4km of asphalt climbs and I got 86 ° (not over 600w) . The ambience temperature was only 10 °, when spring comes it will be impossible to use the bicycle :( :( i weight 104kg :-( It ...
