Re: Anyone using solar panels to charge thru Nuc controller?

Has anyone using solar panels as the power supply for charging via the Nucular controllers' Converter function? Would there be any special considerations or would the controller operating as a converter effectively function as a charge controller enabling the use of panels direct with only a diode ...

Re: Nucular Electronics owner's thread (setup infos, FW updates, links etc.)

Vasilisk can answer better on his controller, but from a solar panel perspective... probably yes, though its ability to deal with any transients is probably non-existant (ie clouds, or someone walking infront of the panel etc). Better off with a dedicated solar controller outputing to a small batter...

I have a bit of time on the CNC this week does anyone with a 273 at hand have the exact measurements for the magnet ring diameter, i have been given 3 or 4 different ones now and want to make sure im accurate, it looks like 295mm is the average so far? what is the true clearance between flanges? ca...

you can look through my build thread (norko) for some examples or just search it here on ES... they're ok, but very poor QC, and not very efficient. Claimed power numbers are pretty bogus.

Re: Solar recharger

I have a 100w solar panel I'm trying to use to charge a lifepo4 battery. On my e bike I used an ebay special voltage converter to drop from 36/48v down to 13.8v to run "12v" things and it worked great. This was for things like a headlight and car style accessories. With the solar panel I'm using so...

Re: Another "stealth bomber" build.

as to statoraid - are you testing the motors outer temp at the magnet ring, between the spokes, or on the side cover? because the side cover will not get hot at all... but the magnet ring can. if its still that kind of temp difference then you may have statoraid stuck on the inside of your stator r...

What are the best control modes plus throttle config for wheelie control, would anyone know? I am almost at the point where I can test this thing out for real! Hopefully tomorrow. 12F or 24F? 12F is not an easy to wheelie (Only 250A Phase) but depends on battery voltage ,your engine type and final ...

Can a generic 12 volt switch handle 60 volts? I'm thinking the switch can handle a certain amount of watts or heat so maybe high voltage with tiny amperage would be ok? Re: Ebike Hub Motor overheating cooling solution - HUBSINK OFFICIAL THREAD

Has anybody have luck running the hub sinks ONLY, with NO FF or Statorade? difference will be marginal at best - the biggest issue is the air gap between the heat source (stator windings) and the 'cool' motor casing. You can easily get your windings/stator over 150C while your outer casing is still...

Yes, I am grateful for your input. I have limited experience with 2-wheelers. It would be interesting if more people with experience would share their thoughts. If I go with the custom drilled rim I guess they take the spoke angles in consideration, that would be the whole purpose. But it is just w...

Is it better to grind off the black coating from the motor where the hubsinks will sit or does it not make a difference? Same story, ( you'll see no notable difference) but im less sure of it.... the paint is wafer thin, so even if it was a good insulator (its probably not) it wouldn't be thick eno...

Re: DIY High Cell Count Balance Charger for Cheap

I would think you could use two 10s chargers concurrently for one 20s pack as long as the chargers are isolated like how my idea works. Meaning, the chargers couldn't share an AC-DC converter, they'd both have to plug into the wall separately. It almost certainly would not work with the dually 10s ...

Re: DIY High Cell Count Balance Charger for Cheap

your desire to avoid cheap BMS's is good - but then you go for cheap power supplies that will take hours to charge your pack, so you're less likely to want to sit there and monitor it through the charge? seems rather at odds with your initial conclusion of avoiding cheap stuff... Not sure what size ...

Barely any better than a hub motor, the swing arm weight needs to be light as possible to have fast damping reaction over bumps if the swing arm has the motor weight it will be lazy and start to bounce about. its a very high rpm inrunner?

ie - no benefit, and (likely) notable drag losses.

Thanks. They also mention that 2 15mm rings would be more efficient than a single 30mm ring. On all pictures with dual rings, the fins were lined up in a straight line. Wouldn't it be more efficient to line them up like this or would that be worse? https://s18.directupload.net/images/190823/temp/2f...

Flux weakening increases RPM but with a fairly significant torque penalty even with motor designs that don't take a massive efficiency hit (IPMs). Worth noting that their "mechanical field weakening" will not avoid the torque penalty. By mechanically field weakening you reduce the effective strengt...
