Re: BOSS LEVEL CUSTOM SPOT WELDER

If memory serves me right it's rated for 800 amps(3s)
This is the datasheet of the fets: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source= ... zozDZkkxng

Re: BOSS LEVEL CUSTOM SPOT WELDER

Do you mean the lipo to power the welder?
I have tested up to 6s. Above 4s It is dangerous. You can damage the fets.

Re: BOSS LEVEL CUSTOM SPOT WELDER

Aim for big burst and high capacity 5000mah or so.
Continuous C is irrelevant, mind only the burst

Re: BOSS LEVEL CUSTOM SPOT WELDER

Pros: you remove the amps limit of the bms. The limit is the limit of the cells. With this technique you can make a 150a battery using a cheap and tiny 15a bms. The charge and balance work exactly the same. Cons: you lose lvc protection. You can kill the pack the very first day you use It if you do ...

Re: MiniSpotA spot welder

:bolt: nice battery. I never experienced change from automatic to manual. Since the ignition button is the same to shift modes i guess that's a secondary effect. I wonder if rising the time from 2 to 3 seconds would solve that.
How often did you suffer that?
And btw why do you prefer manual?

Re: MiniSpotA spot welder

What did you use to parallel the bricks? The adaptor should have thick wire. 8awg at least or no wire at all. I use this for parallel: 53677u.jpg If you use something like this: 25662.jpg Make sure the wire is short and 8awg. You will lose the hell of a lot of amps otherwise hence the big time flux....

Re: Bypass Bms

No. You put the negative probe of the multimeter on the main negative or the negative pin of the jst. It will be the first or the last depending on the bms model. Then you place the positive probe on each pin of the jst in order. The first time you should read around 3.4v the second pin should show ...

Re: Bypass Bms

If you have only -b and -p then you have a "shared port" bms -p is charge and discharge wire. You must connect -b to main negative. Then you solder the balance wires in order. Double check the voltage pin by pin with a multimeter(do you know how to?) If they are ok you can plug the jst to the bms So...

Re: Bypass Bms

To bypass the bms you must ignore -p. Both discharge wires are soldered to the pack main -&+
-b and-c must be soldered
You keep the balancing feature but you lose the lvc. You must program your controller to cut discharge. Keep that in mind or you will kill your pack.

Re: MiniSpotA spot welder

I have been testing a way to cool the device keeping the size and price. The fets are stuck to the aluminium plate with some thermal silicone paste. Those things require to cure to transfer the heat properly so it will work better after a few hundred welds. the heat is very present there heat.jpg fo...

Re: MiniSpotA spot welder

Mine got hot after 30 welds in a row using 0.20 pure nickel
I didn't notice a quick heat rise using 0.15
I think you can make any pack using 0.15
I am working on a cooling mod. Let's see...
Out of the box i recommend It for 0.15mm only. I have posted a tiny modification below to use it with 0.2mm

Re: MiniSpotA spot welder

I've just tested copper. The results were not expected at all. 9EMc0ZXYtC4 Testing 0.05 copper on steel. It worked surprisingly well! The boss welder can't do 0.05 properly because It breaks the strip. I still need to figure out how to cool down the welder but it's definitely 0.05 copper capable HTn...

Re: MiniSpotA spot welder

True. He is selling the MiniSpotA for 60$ USD. You still need a lipo and a charger. If you own them already it's dirt cheap. Even if you don't ....It will be cheaper than most Big ac spot welders.

Re: BOSS LEVEL CUSTOM SPOT WELDER

It is not. Lee is selling them only at Korea. If he sees some interest then will ship It worldwide. He has sent me one, will arrive this week. I'll make a review as soon as this damn flu goes away.
