Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

bac4k too small for a "big bike" its barely enough for a surron (phase amps) Oh really? huh, from what I could gleem from forums, seems like it was enough and the 8000 was overkill. Remember, this isn't a "big bike", it would be more "mid sized"... So a 72V 40ah'ish pa...

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

Yup should be correct. incl BMS and GFK plates as insulation. i think 20kg is a "Good" Battery weight. "We" want a "bigger-surron" and not a full size MX Bike. so Ending up with 75Kg should be the target. Very cool. So can you take time to really double check those fig...

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

haha, you're so picky. Yes, notice the ~ sign. 20lbs or 22lbs for the CR85 forks. Close enough. I was just guessing. Yes, you're right. they're 10.8", again was just going on memory. and bike @ 65 vs. 77kgs. You're not going to be able to have an exact number here, it weighs what it weighs when...

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

sure... 380 x 148 x 158 gives you a tight 20s14p of 21700 for example p42 molicels = 4kwh capacity / 560A peak power/ 20kg weight in 1,5mm Aluminium case. or 5kwh with 5Ah cells and ~ 280A peak power Holy crap. Sure that's correct?? that seems REALLY small... just a tad bigger than the stock batt.....

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

Everything on the Alta is custom (of course.) Here is the cutaway diagram: http://www.mcnews.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/2019-Redshift-EXR-Dual-Sport-7.jpg No one says you can't make the battery compartment bigger but at a minimum it should fit a SurRon battery. There have to be more of those...

Don't copy surron battery case size. It's shit for 21700 fit.
10-4, give me dims for a good size 72ah battery enclosure then. Assuming it's not just taped up, like atleast some "padding" within the enclosure, rubber/plastic etc.

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

Well I'll be damned, you're right! 37mm on those CR85 stantions...that's weird, must be an optical illusion then. Thought they were much larger than that....maybe because I just had a pair of KTM450 forks in my hand recently...got them confused... But even then, the way they're sprung/valved and oil...

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

Forget using the surron motor. If you design something go with a proper motor like 3kw qs motors. Which model do you recommend? The biggest one you can fit. One of the 3kW QS mid-drives has the reduction gear in it (edit: see the one posted above) so you can't do the concentric pivot jack sha...

Hi guys, Thanks for continuing the awesome discussions in this thread. Anyway, from what I gather, more and more battery packs and ...

Re: SURRON LB: RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

If you Wanna reach ~70km you are allready at the "sweet spot" As you said. Stock battery lasts around 40km. 1800wh : 40 = 45wh/km 3250wh : 45wh = 72km That fits exactly real world experience. I made this batteries also with 35E cells. In theory you have ~3.6kwh with same weight of the vtc...

Re: Sur-Ron - New Mid drive Bike

Auto regen takes some getting used to. It's just like the Tesla. I would prefer it to only engage when you pull the brakes so you can still coast. I'd also love to have something like that, or maybe reverse throttle twist for regen. Ok, so if anyone knows who I should contact, preferably in the EU,...
