Do the crank drives fit in standard 68mm BB's? Might run this in a vintage road bike if so!

Re: Vintage Norco ebike build advice

I haven't ordered yet, and that is good advice, 2808 seems like it would be far better suited! Almost no hills around where I ride. 25mph is probably the max speed I'd want anyway with such skinny tires and no suspension.

Vintage Norco ebike build advice

Hey guys, build two here! Lightweight Norco Beretta from the early 80's I think. All steel frame from my magnet testing! My only worry is the small diameter seat and chain stays and the dropouts. I know dropouts can be strengthened but I'm really worried about the seat and chain stays. I've included...

I picked up this http://res1.graysonline.com/handlers/im ... 8037500000 and wear ski goggles. It's great apart from blind spot checks, mind you I don't have bar end mirrors which would probably make things a lot easier!

Hey MadRhino, do you have any problems with the rear fender mount not being stiff enough and hitting your rear tire? I used the thickest coat hangers I could find but the entire rear fender wobbles like mad.

Where did you get your fender mounting brackets from Madrhino? I can't seem to find any like your front ones, with the plastic wrap around part for the suspension.

Re: Giant DH Team build Clyte 40XX motor but which rim?

If you go the 18" route don't expect to use the bike offroad ever. Pedal hits are the norm with the 18" rim. I'm running 26" hookworms for commuting and 2.5 Maxxis for offroad - both run with DH tubes and I have yet to get a pinch flat. I top out at about 45mph with my HS3540.

Whoa! Now those look amazing! Thanks for posting :)

Philistine, it looks like the one with the flap is the front fender. It looks as if the fenders on his bike are mounted with those flaps facing foward (had they not been cut off as he mentioned in his post)

A2B Metro Style Fenders for 26" x 2.5 hookworms

Hey guys, I've been looking for a while for a full coverage large fender, similar to the a2b metro style. I'm running 26" x 2.5 hookworms on a DH Comp. I haven't been able to find squat, has anyone else had any luck in looking for something similar?

You can fit 12, 6s batteries in the frame Peter! We both bought the same frame and my next build is going to be 24s3p.

Just wondering if this legislation is only aimed at scooter style ebikes? If so, why not just sell yours before it becomes law, if it ever does, and make a proper bicycle ebike?

I was wondering if it was possible to have the entire battery box made into a removable box?

Re: Handmade frame battery as stealth fighter.

What you can do is get a jpeg of the fighter, a side shot. Import it into google sketchup and make your 3d cad design over top of the jpeg. You'll get all your angles bang on and you did it yourself! The only measurement you need, I think, would be the axel to axel length and you should be able to s...

Re: GCinDC's Scott Nitrous 20

Oh GC, the performance on the Nine's are amazing, it's just sorting out the weird nuances that take time. For example, when you bleed the rear, make sure the caliper is at 45 degrees, not 90. So I had to remove the caliper from the mount and bleed it. Just stupid shit like that. Also, Hayes have A++...

Re: Temperature inside hub motors - choosing a thermal fuse

If you can change the halls on your own you can definitely install a temp sensor. Just hit up ikea for a bbq temp sensor (3.99), rip of the metal probe end and that's all you need. Get some thermal paste, slap the sensor on the windings, and you're done. It shouldn't take you longer than 10 minutes....
