Re: DC-DC reducer ?

The horn was designed to be usd with either 12V or 9V by ... Tac Horn .... for first responders cycles (medics or police) by a former police officer. I ran it off a 9V battery. I wanted to tidy up my trike and only have the larger battery run everything. Since most things in today's world recharge ...

Re: DC-DC reducer ?

........ If this is a typical horn like automotive horns are, then you can have a few possible problems. ---it may take much more current at the initial button-push to turn it on than the DC-DC could handle (a battery would easily handle it even if voltage dropped, but the DC-DC electronics may not...

Re: DC-DC reducer ?

And I forgot to add, reputable sellers dont sell crap like random sellers you purchase from online do. Remember those shady folks online want your money because $1usd is like a million dollars in their country. What does $1usd buy you in America? A small 7-eleven coffee, but it feeds a family of 4 ...

Re: DC-DC reducer ?

Thank you. I had thought that the 10A was output from the unit. What I am trying to do is reduce the voltage to 12V for accessories on an e-assisted trike for touring. I have a 9-12v horn (police bike siren), I also have a portable,12V USB charger for flashlights, phones, tablets, smart helmet if I ...

DC-DC reducer ?

First I would like to begin with ...... I know very little about electric components. Sorry in advance if this sounds dumb. I have a 52v battery from EM3ev ..... 52V 23.8Ah (14S7P-35E) High-Energy Pack With Smart BMS. I want to be able to reduce the voltage down to 12v for accessories. I have looked...

Looking for DC-DC

I am looking for something like what Grin Technologies used to carry...... a DC-DC converter. My bike has 52v and I would like to be able to run my bike bike horn (9-12 v) and or Magicshine 900 headlight (I believe 6v). Are there anyone out there that sells these that I can get. I am in Ontario Cana...

Re: battery problem ?

Yes the controller has a lvc. It will cutoff the power. Now what controller and kit do you have ? As both batteries cutoff at 52v it must be something other then batteries. I am not sure what the controller is but it was a eZee kit from e-bikes.ca back in the summer of 2011. There is no numbers or ...

Re: battery problem ?

Do your batteries have a bms? As far as I know, both batteries have a BMS. Cellman made up my A123 (3.5 years old) and told me that the battery would shut off before damage would occur because of low voltage. The other battery came from the eZee kit from e-bikes and is a Lim_EZ (4.5 years old) and ...

battery problem ?

I have a problem with 2 different batteries, 48v. When new, the batteries would run to below 48v before the recommended cut off would stop them. Now the batteries cut off and when I measure the voltage with a volt meter, it reads 52.1 - 52.5 volts. What could be the reason for this (sorry I only hav...

Re: Need help on battery choices

Thanks for the replies. I am not into building batteries myself (just too much for me) which is why I look for quality builders. Yes my A123 is just great and really outperforms the battery which came with my eZee kit. I did get my A123 from Cellman and have sent him a request but have not heard bac...

Re: Need Help With Battery Problem

My first battery was a 48v, 10Ah eZee LiMn battery. A year latter I got a 48v, 20Ah LifePo4 A123 battery from Cellman. Since they are not exactly the same battery I have kept them separate. The 20Ah battery can be charged faster while the eZee battery can only be charged at 3a (4 Max). If I was able...

Re: Need Help With Battery Problem

Thanks to all that have replied. I think I have this solved. I removed the Anderson Connectors and just solid soldered the wires together with a double shrink wrap on each wire and then a double shrink wrap over all to make it a one wire. I have used it for a few days now without a problem, just hop...

Re: Need Help With Battery Problem

Thanks for the replies. I have found a problem, not sure if it is what is causing what I had or not, but it is a problem. The battery I got from Paul, used a 3 wire setup while the setup I had only used 2 wires (red & black) so he made up an adapter so this battery would work for me. I used shri...

Need Help With Battery Problem

Hello, I have a problem and I will try to give an idea as to what is happening. I have an eZee 400 watt motor,48V 10AH kit from e-bikes.ca. I also have a 20Ah battery from cellman. The problem I have is with the 20Ah battery. When I plug in the 10Ah battery everything reads good on the CA, but when ...

Does a 5A charger harm battery

Hello I have read, heard, different leading statements on battery chargers. So here is my question, I hope that it does not make me sound too much like a beginner. Does a 5A charger cause any more harm to a battery then a 2A charger. I have heard and read that it does, also that it does not. So I th...

Re: Setting of lower limit voltage limit ?

Thank you for the responses. I do not know much about my batteries (do not know how many cells, ect) as I bought them in a kit. I figured that the controller would have been set up to limit my batteries and It seems to have been. My CA tells me that my 48 v battery has 54.5v when fully charged but t...

Setting of lower limit voltage limit ?

For all members that have a Cycle Assist or another device which will limit how far down your battery can be taken in voltage when in use, what do you set your lower limits at. Like if you have a 60 volt (or 48 or 36 v) battery what voltage would you set as your lower limit.

Thanks Tom

What should be the lower limit be for a battery

I hope this question can easily be answered and that it is not that stupid of a question. How far can one deplete one's battery before the battery will receive damage. I operate a 48 volt 10AH (limn) and my dad has a 60v 20AH (lipo4) on a scooter. I was told that the scooter will not operate at a lo...
