Re: France bans illegal eMTB tuning with fines up to € 30,000
thanx to the neverendums the only thing i know about the french legal system is it's 'napoleanic' based. which aiui places priority on protecting the state over the individual, the opposite of what we're used to. this is how quebec get's away with banning english while the rest of us have to cater t...

I noticed doctorbass has been largely absent as well, though that could just be a coincidence. I've read through many of the old posts here at ES and it seems that at least a few of the people who seemed to be on the bleeding edge circa 2015 or so are either notably absent or no longer contributing...

clearly deterrent hasn't worked for cars so why bother even have speed laws.
whereas the streets are soaked in blood from eMTB's.

Re: What's so bad about low impedence?
Generally, with motors, you want to get power OUT of the load (the motor.) If power goes into a motor, but nothing comes out, it would be pretty useless, eh? power in, torque & rpm out is what you want. nice try cya tho. no, the load ohms is dictated by impedance matching . . .Maximum Power Tra...

Re: What's so bad about low impedence?
It all goes back to supply voltage. The power you can get out of a load is given by its resistance (at DC) or its impedance (at AC.) well there's the flaw in your thinking. generally power goes into a load. hard to believe you actually went to MIT. interestingly lower supply voltage also comes back...

Re: What's so bad about low impedence?
Then transistors came along, ... what i said in a broader sense to include more than transistors. You can't have a motor with no impedance of any kind. no but you can (theoretically) approach it. You'd violate the laws of thermodynamics. which is why i asked ... i'd really like to know what sort of...

you can be dismissive of me all you like but it don't change the fact that weather warfare & geo-engineering are going on right now. there wouldn't be the need for a treaty if it wasn't real. the true purpose of any treaty is to attempt to keep your enemy from breaking the treaty while you keep ...

Re: What's so bad about low impedence?
But they are talking about impedance, not resistance. Two different things. are they really? or is resistance along with reactance the two sides of the same impedance coin? When a circuit is driven with direct current (DC), there is no distinction between impedance and resistance; the latter can be...

If there is no such thing as a high torque wind, why do members here call some winds (speed winds) when rewinding stators. it's all joshua goldberg's fault. don't think it started over at the power-assist yahoo group but fer sure it's where it blew up. some EE made the (stress) analogy to some noob...

Re: What's so bad about low impedence?
well, zero ohms is ideal. so naturally a controller/inverter manufacturer is gonna say that, it's hard on the equipment. it makes his job more difficult to design as well as for more warranty claims having to drive/transfer power into lo-ohms. why do you think speaker impedance keeps getting lower. ...

The DeHavilland Mosquito was highly respected. Maybe take a look at early aircraft design, materials, etc. Wood is an amazing material with some properties that can't be beaten even with modern synthetics... hey, if the Luftwaffe can build & fly a jet fighter that's screwed-n-glued outta wood then a velo's no worries https://airandspace.si....
