^^ Agreed. Even 10 to 15 years ago a 10 second 0-60 wasnt seen as a bad number. 0-60 in 7 or 8 seconds 20 years ago was sports car area... Re: can i use such a small high rpm motor?

nobody said you cant do it, its just a question whether the time and effort and the rest of the parts cost is justifiable when going to a bigger motor for an extra 30 dollars or so would yield MUCH better performance. we had a saying in street racing days...throw enough 100 dollar bills at ANY probl...

Re: can i use such a small high rpm motor?

Couple of problems with such a small motor and such a high KV. if you intend to feed that thing any sort of decent voltage it will spin WAY too high....say 48V at 900rpm/V = 43200 RPM!! lets use 80% efficiencly thats still 34500 RPM. I'm pretty sure that a. that motors bearings cant survive such hig...

For some unexplained reason McMaster-Carr wont ship to Canada, or ship to US if you are buying from Canada   i'm looking for other website/resources where i can buy #25 chain sprockets. Also i'm looking for freewheel adapters. Recumbence no longer sells them and FFR trikes wants an arm a...

The sad part is work is litered with 3phase servo driven motors that have built in encoders, these motors are the industry used $1000 and up motors and i dont know how to utilise them. BTW does anyone know if the 3phase motors we use are DC or AC on ...

Re: Motor Cycles worse for Environment Say Mythbusters

Open loop vs Closed loop system...simple. Cars have the ability to monitor the a/f mixture and compensate the fuel intake to trim to proper ratio. Motorcycles do not. Some motorcycles do have 02 sensors but its for part load cruise only and it doesnt really help that much. Also super sport and sport...

Re: Building a ebike, fast 60kmh top speed, 20km range

everything sounds good cept the battery choice....when it comes to a/h you wanna go as big as possible...5 a/h are the best in terms of price to a/h ratio. (i'm not talking dont go HK Lipo, i meant the size of the batts) reason? believe me, from someone who runs an 18s3p pack, the additional connect...

Mike, you could always ship it to CBI or another Amerifriend company in Buffalo....its a company that you can ship stuff to and then go pick it up. i save a fortune this way....send stuff all the time and they will let you hold it there for months with no extra charges. its $5 and change per package...

i understand where everyone is coming from but i have to clarify things a bit. i have a CA and when running "high voltage" the pack is a 18s3p = 75v15a/h pack fully charged. on my commute on average i use about 8 to 9 a/h. i charge to 4.15 and discharge to 3.7, 3.8v on average. only one time was a p...
