Re: The Frey HT1000 - And yes, HT stands for Hardtail! *updated*

Daaamn, that orange looks great!! Excellent colour. Will be a fun bike in 29", though I'd personally go for carbon fork when it comes to 29" tire (especially plus tire). Bike will be lighter and essentially the same small bump handling. Awwww, man! I'm gettin' screwed! I couldn't get the tires I wa...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

I did this 20190704_042326 - Copy (3).jpg on my first attempt at speed on the flat and she was still giving as I let out of it. I believe it has amazing potential. Post results when done please! 82.8 km/h? This is an impossible speed at these power levels, except if you were standing in one place a...

Re: The Frey HT1000 - And yes, HT stands for Hardtail! *updated*

I have my HT1000 due in the UK soon, coming by train overland from China to the UK (15 days approx). Similar specs but didn't upgrade the brakes. The pic they sent appears to be 42T front not 40t as in the ad. No matter, I was thinking of upgrading to 46t anyway would match my current (and suitably...

Hi guys, so is it really $800 USD to ship this bike to Vancouver? I'm interested in this bike but the shipping seems a bit much.
Yes, when I ordered mine that is what I paid.

The hardtail is the one I was after, suspension is nice but nothing beats a rigid frame for mounting bags and carrying stuff.

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Sad news to report. My Frey AM1000 was stolen last night. I'm in the San Francisco Bay Area so if anyone from this area sees one riding around or for sale, maybe let me know. It was white with blue lettering, but I think what makes it unique are the Ching Sheng Tire BFT 27.5 x 3.0 tires. I don't th...

Normal? :?:
My HT1000 makes a scary clacky noise when being pushed backwards too. I can't say if it's exactly the same but it sounds like it is. I've been assuming it's normal.
Ivy tells me that all is good.

Re: The Frey HT1000 - And yes, HT stands for Hardtail! *updated*

Ok, been busy but I've had some time to run it around the block a once or twice. It's great. The medium frame fits me well at 5' 10.5". It's well put together. Everything came out of the box tight and proper with the exception of a few tweaks to get the brake levers on the same plane, and a slight d...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Does anyone have any input on the charger that comes with the Frey bike, I'm talking about the 54.6V 5A Smart Charger for the AM and HT 1000s. What makes it 'smart?'

I'm curious about which groupset you went with for your bike and the cassette ratio you're using? Hi Richard! Thanks for starting this thread and sharing all the details and photos! I went with the Shimano XT M8000 groupset. The rear cassette they provided is the 11-48 11spd, so you could probably ...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

Normally 27.5 plus tires fit on a 29 bike, you just need another set of wheels It's my understanding at the moment that will not take a plus size 27.5 wheel, a standard 27.5 would likely fit. I've asked Ivy to clarify the dropout width. I hope I'm wrong about it not fitting a plus size, I really li...

Re: My Bafang Ultra Mountain Bike! Frey AM1000

what do you refer to by 27.5+? am1000 takes 27.5x3.0 from what I understand. I have 27.5 x 3.0 installed from Frey on my AM1000. No, I mean the HT1000 will not, the AM1000 does. There was some talk on this thread of the hardtail, so in my disappointment at the news that I had waited for months for ...

Still no 27.5+ bike, the HT1000 won't take a 27.5+ wheel, and it doesn't sound like one that will is being made. Months of waiting for nothing. . .
