Re: GCinDC's Giant DH Comp

Any news on the bike? Also, what do you where in terms of pants on the commute in to work on the bike? I have been thinking about commuting to my internship in the 40(or so) degree mornings, but the thinner material of dress pants doesn't make the ideal scenario for a commute in at 35mph. As soon as...

Re: GCinDC's Giant DH Comp

nice week commuting! probably going to have to vent the MXUS 3000 tho. hits 350F 3/4 of the way up my long hill after pulling only 35A. with winter (salt) coming tho, i'm wondering if i should just try to manage the heat with the throttle. and i don't even have regen set up yet. Keep the mot...

Re: Calculation of front fork stress due to hub motor

There's disk brake carbon forks now, which are designed to take a strong torque around the axle. I can't see a problem with them when using say a 250w motor. The torue arm can be anchored to the brake caliper mount. Having said that, I would say, why put the motor in the front if you can put it in ...

After all that waiting and nothing.

Couldn't you get another frame that is more suitable for this kind of build after selling the DH Comp?

Yah, you are so light, the inductance load isn't being challenged, so to speak. I bet if I road your machine, amps would jump up over 45 taking off. Probably :P lol I'm looking into getting just a H4080 stator to put into my current rim just so I can keep up with traffic here and travel a bit faste...

Re: HS3540 BOSS BUILD. Now H4065 Boss Build

There's your solution Rob, 18S is reliable and you should still get 35mph or more with your 4065. I forgot you had the throttle tamer. Yah, 24s is really pushing your controller, especially if it has 4110 Fets. Even through they are rated for 100 volts, going above 92 flowing decent amps and your r...

Yah, those frames are a knock off of the old style Qulbix Raptor frame with thee 165mm wide battery compartment. Good frame from what I hear. The Denzel rep was on ES a while back selling their custom 24MTB tires, but they violated ES policy about pricing notices so they aren't allowed to post. Kee...

Re: HS3540 BOSS BUILD. Now H4065 Boss Build

You're back Rob, glad to see it. I don't think your throttle/regen issue is from a short. Otherwise it wouldn't wait until your motor and controller are warm, do you have a temp sensor? If yes, that's where I would check first. I do have a temp sensor, however I never hooked it up. So it mine as we...

Re: Got wisdom for 10,000 mile ride?

I would go for the slower wind 3540 for lower amp draw at the same speed, which would increase your range and decrease heat produced as well.

Everything else looked good to me. Good luck on your journey! :D
