Re: Sensored/Sensorless Infineons auto hall mapping

I purchased a 20 inch rear wheel HS3548 C-lyte kit from Grin at the end of June of this year, the Infineon 25 amp controller that came with this kit is the sensored/sensorless type. This controller also has 6x AOT290L mosfets,If I remember correctly Adam said that these were better than the 6x IRFB411...

Re: Brushed Crystalyte 409 Problem (solved)

Eureka !!! Thanks Mr.Dogman!!! The bearings were fine they ran smooth as silk, the issue was sliding the bearing over the axle where it's supposed to sit and sitting flush in the cup on the side cover. It sure was a tight squeeze. I used a socket from a socket wrench set to sit over the outer race of ...

Re: Brushed Crystalyte 409 Problem

I went out and bought me a 6 inch gear puller and the motor came apart with ease. Well...it turns out is was the brushes. They were terriblely worn out, down to the copper braid that attaches to the carbon brush. It actually wore a groove in the commutator. What's really weird is this motor didn't even ...

Re: Toronto asked to keep e-bikes off sidewalks and bike lanes!

I live in a city of ~130,000 south of T.O.We too had the bylaw that bicycles having 20 inch and smaller wheels were allowed on sidewalks and after much complaining the bylaw was revised so that only little kids are allowed to ride on the sidewalk.I would rather ride on the road but with the major ro...

Yep I've been getting my most of my groceries with the ebike. The panniers on the rack hold a surprising amount and I also have a kinda big canvas type bag strapped to the handlebars.I end up going about 3 times a week just because it's fun.

Mr.dogman,
I really like the idea you've concocted with the pvc pipe creating a thumb/half twist throttle.Would you have any pictures of it that you could post?I may want to try to make something like that myself.

Yes,I lent my ebike to my 18 yr old nephew once and did regret it. He said he only wanted to take it for a short ride to show the bike to his friends and he'd be back shortly,I reluctantly agreed.Off he went and he didn't come back til ~4 hours later with a completely flat battery (the LVC on the co...

We heat our house with oil. What a difference from last year when the price was $1.47 per litre,we're now paying ~$0.77 per litre. We got a high efficiency furnace the other year and this years heating costs have been reasonably low compared to last year, it's been colder this winter me thinks.

I like to ride on the side streets that are kinda parallel to the main roads but that's not always possible. With night riding there's definitely less traffic but unless you have really good lighting you'll hit the potholes as dogman said. Traveling at 20+ mph you just don't have the time to veer out...

If there's a shorted cell in a battery it will appear fine when checking with a voltmeter but if you put a load on it and check with a voltmeter it will drop real quick.
