Re: Wayne’s Dengfu Carbon Fibre FS 27.5” with Bafang M600 (throttle also)

Good point speedmd on the motor reduction, good thing I have a throttle :) but your are right in regards to the PAS part of the equation but I think I still have a valid point on the short shifting especially if you have and use a throttle.

Re: Wayne’s Dengfu Carbon Fibre FS 27.5” with Bafang M600 (throttle also)

HI Tom, Watts equals your amps x volts . Power as you state comes from your Watts but the TOP OUT Speed per gear(providing you have enough amps for the situation) comes from volts. So in some circumstances like a super steep big hill one might not be able to reach the max speed of the motor because ...

Re: Wayne’s Dengfu Carbon Fibre FS 27.5” with Bafang M600 (throttle also)

Hi 'Tom, yes points taken. :) Sorry for being a snob regarding my take on the looks of the bike. I just think if someone goes comercial with a build it might as well be awesome. Home builds are totally differnt and are actually kind of cool when they show the make do approach, sometimes the uglier h...

Re: Wayne’s Dengfu Carbon Fibre FS 27.5” with Bafang M600 (throttle also)

HI Speedmd, yes I am still a big believer in the M600. My long winded reply at the top of page 12 in this thread tells the story on how to get smoothness out of the system. I have that now and its working well. Regarding the ultra I do like the idea of the lighter weight I am running on my M600 and ...

Re: Wayne’s Dengfu Carbon Fibre FS 27.5” with Bafang M600 (throttle also)

HI Gizzygone, the torque pedal assist works fine, can not compare it to the other drives as all my other experiences are with older versions of shimano motors etc but the issues for smoothness can best be described from the text I will paste below that are more related to working the system with the...

Re: Wayne’s Dengfu Carbon Fibre FS 27.5” with Bafang M600 (throttle also)

HI speedmd, the fatty you have shown looks nice but the steer tube angle looks a bit slack in relation to seat tube angle. To me the 9000 watts or so from the M600 drive is just is not enough to push a fatty around for what it i ment to do. If one just has to have a fatty then go for it I guess (I k...

Re: Wayne’s Dengfu Carbon Fibre FS 27.5” with Bafang M600 (throttle also)

HI Gizzygone, I have a fat tire bike and its fun. Was a novilty riding in the snow and open desert but in reality the 27.5 x 2.8 tires on my Dengfu is such a better choice in every way unless you are plowing throw super deep snow and if that is the case you may need a peppier motor than the M600 pla...

HI Gizzygone, when you ask ----- "No issues with anything? Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

Thanks Illegal for posting this info on the crank arms. Ouch, that web site says 38 bucks to ship to USA. I did not bother to add the second arm to the cart after seeing the high shipping cost. I will try my luck end of March when I am back at my shop and re drill and re tap to get an effective 160m...

Great news that a few users are having success with a 14 s 52v packs. Please keep us posted as time goes on as to how the controller lasts with the higher voltage running through it. Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

And also kite_rider, as mentioned you need a decent throttle for this to work and be comfortable. Give it a try with what you have but if you see it as a work around for yourself you need to take the next step and wire in a decent throttle.

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

Hey Kite_rider.... Regarding the programing I think the one main thing that would really help especially if you are running a throttle is if the M600 would work like the HD1000 in the way you can have max throttle overide any low power setting you are running for you pedal assist. If you dont have a...

Re: Bafang M500/M600 thread

what about this idea of sensor magnet on crank arm and sensor relocated on chains stay to pick up the signal from the crank arm magnets instead of from the wheel revoltions. I would think the effect is like tricking the sensor to be thinking the wheel is spinning much slower than it actually is. Not...

Re: Wayne’s Dengfu Carbon Fibre FS 27.5” with Bafang M600 (throttle also)

Here is a tip from a friend of mine that know's of a person that put the speedo magnet on the crank arm and then rearranged the speedo sensor on the chainstay accordingly to bypass a controllers low speed limiter setting. This was not done on the M600 but on a different drive but should work on thes...

HI Naga, welcome to the club. Glad you have your M600 on the trail. A couple of questions for you please...... 1. Good going on the home built Battery pack, did you go 48 volt or 52 volt? I am assuming 48 Volt 13s. (EDIT YES I SEE NOW FROM PREVIOUS POSTING YOU ARE AT 13S 4P) 2. You have mentioned th...

Hi Andy, that is a good point regarding trying to rotate the chainring in the backwards direction and If it is very difficult to turn to trouble shoot if the Fets are blown. I did not know this and makes me think it would be interesting to test how much pressure or pounds of pull it will take to rot...

Thanks for this info Leeleeducati. The error messesage you are getting is not one that I have come across. My throttle works right from a dead stop as soon as you hit the throttle with no error message. The only error message I get on my unit is if you start pedeling or hitting the throttle too soon...
