Re: Scratch built 33" Kicktail Monocoque longboard

Wow that looks good with the glossy varnish finish. Nicely done! I like the idea of having your cover held on by magnets, so convenient. And because its so convenient, completely removes the need for externally mounted power button, charge port, ect. Could always install some kind of retaining brack...

Re: Scratch built 33" Kicktail Monocoque longboard

Some proper skills with your 3D CAD design and CNC machining. Is that what you do for work?

Getting a bit more serious with the Enertion kit. So that's to build a prototype of a board that you're going to sell?

Re: Scratch built 33" Kicktail Monocoque longboard

Nice work mate!

That's so cool how you can make you own deck just like that. Made that look far too easy.
This thing will be practical as hell being fairly lightweight and not too long. And sounds like decent performance as well.

Did you hook up a bluetooth module to your VESC?

Re: Re-wind of a turnigy 80/100 (Now-tutorial w/Video)

Yep controller is the limiting factor at the moment. I'm using VESCs which are purpose built for electric skateboards. They are very good but I need to up the voltage to get more power out of them.

Re: Re-wind of a turnigy 80/100 (Now-tutorial w/Video)

Apologies in advance as this is not strictly on topic.. I’m hoping some subscribers to this topic may have information on a SK3 6374 rewind? I’m currently using two 6374 149kv motors as hub motors on my E-skate. It goes well, just over 50 km/h on 6S lipo. As you can imagine, the current required on ...

How does that motor handle a bit of abuse? Any problems with overheating?

Re: Doctorbass 2WD ADAPTTO / NYX / MXUS 32kW 105 pounds

Just read back through the discussion about the new 14kW Max-e. If it is in fact just the gate driver boards that have been changed I wonder if Adaptto would sell us those separately to allow us to upgrade our old version Adaptto..

Trade me had some cheap tyres back when I was looking. There were a bunch new CST 90/90R19 for $10 each. maybe not what you're looking for but they make a decent road tyre

Re: Planning/build thread, DH frame, Mini-E, QS 205 w/ LG HG

Sounds bloody awesome mate you should be able to do some damage with that setup! Regarding heat dissipation in the batteries, im sure others on ES have packed them hexagonally without issues and on higher discharge rates. If you know the internal resistance of the battery you can calculate the power...

Re: Planning/build thread, DH frame, Mini-E, QS 205 w/ LG HG

Nice 2.214 kWh thats heaps of battery capacity!

How was the shipping cost for all those batteries? I've been finding that shipping LiPo to NZ is getting more and more expensive.

Definitely going to keep an eye on this build

Re: Electric Surf Board

Thats going to be a lot of battery.. Unfortunately the power requirement for such watercraft is quite large and so you do need a big battery to get decent run times. I think this ~10kW system is a nice amount of power. But lets look at the battery required to get half hour run times @ 190A on 14S 19...

Re: 10S custom skate ESC: testers wanted!

Hey Benjamin, Would like to say you are the master of motor control, these VESCs are amazing! Cant wait to see how they go with FOC. Will the older revision PCBs (V2.8) be able to run FOC? Also just wondering if there would be any issues if I were to swap the FETs for the AUIRFS8409-7P ? I have a 14...

Re: QSMOTOR 0.5kW-12kW BLDC Hub Motor Index

A few people are doing this as an attempt to improve heat transfer from the stator to the side covers. Black surfaces will absorb heat through radiation a higher rate. I have no idea how much difference it makes but will probably try it myself at some stage

pretty much any latching bipolar hall sensor will work. The key is to get one in the surface mount package. the through hole package hall sensors typically used dont fit in the stator teeth slots. Quite difficult to do but i soldered fine wires onto the pins of the SMD package, wrapped the sensor in...

For some reason I thought you were putting the faster 3T mxus on the front wheel and 4T on the rear.. Did you decide to swap them around?
