Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Thanks for the advice it's a geared motor so that won't work long term. Figures I just sold my old cycle analyst last week and when I got the new CA I just resused the old sensor to save taking the wiring harness apart that seems like a dumb idea now....Another good fix would be to have a setting of...

Troubleshooting help please

Hi all; just had a new problem crop up that has me a bit stumped. When I was out riding just now the bike started cutting out randomly just for a second or two. I use current control throttle on my setup and have been happy with it. Today when I was riding, the bike would cut out randomly for a seco...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Just upgraded to 3.19 from 3.17... despite using the new flash tool and the nocal version of the hex it erased all my distance, cycles and amp/hr data and erased all the calibration and changed from km's to mph. I can't tell you how frustrating that is the one time I didn't write it all down first. I...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

The voltage change is about .3 volts it displays this higher value after power up but drops after a reset. I notice because sometimes the CA shows my lipoly 10s string as 41.6 volts off the charger. Which is the value i got before I calibrated the voltage input. After reset it drops to 41.3 which is...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

The problem I reported previously about voltage change after reset still exists. it seems to only use the calibrated value sometimes. After booting I get one value and after reset another.

Re: mac geared hub motor and offroad cycling

I know this a very old thread... I just took my Mac 8t apart to replace a bad hall sensor. I've ridden this bike just over 3000 Km since last year on the mac motor. I have the purplish gears. I ride on trails almost 100% of the time rough gravel with jumps and high speeds. Hard slow overheating clim...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Well Thats it for me for a bit. Every single software update brings a new deal breaking problem. No one else seems to have them I haven't at this point had a correctly functioning unit for longer than two days. Thanks but I've just rewired and gone back to my old cycle analyst. Nice box doesn't try ...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

cruzxia; I use the same programmer from lyen with those settings exactly. Works great for me It's all shrink wrapped up right now so I'll have to find the notes I made of the wiring to help you. I had trouble getting it to work at first. I tried a couple of different wirings. Make sure you follow th...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Hi Justin; I installed the new software. There seems to be an issue with the current readings being twice as high as expected. I use a 5.0 mohm shunt and only by setting the value to 9+ do I get close to the proper value. Rshunt is set correctly.. If your taking votes mines for putting the leading z...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Hi Justin; I'm setup in miles not Kms sorry. Although I have switched back and forth before I had a unrelated problem recently where the bike cut out and would only run the motor for a quick jolt. I checked the output signal in the real time menu and it was working perfectly. It seemed exactly like ...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Well the new software sure changed things. Now it cuts out every single time. I have all limiters turned off no speed or power limiting. I power up apply full throttle and it cuts out either right away or in a few seconds. Curiously if I baby it it seems last a bit longer but I get the same total di...

I had the problem come back to me on a ride and while I was peddling my As- home I figured out how and what is causing the problem. When the thro...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Just tested the new code and the throttle cutting out issue remians exactly the same. I turned off every limiting feature and its the same. Changed to speed throttle and it works fine. Except for surging between full power and off to control speed but I'm sure I could tune parameters for this. Switc...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

For me it's that I can't see the ok when it comes up because my right hand is blocking just a bit of that edge of the screen but not a big deal just have to get used to a new hand position. Just to confirm the battery gauge only works when the throttle is released and shows full all other times corr...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Well it is good to know I'm not alone; My enviroment is all hills so I may have run into this a bit sooner than other people. Not trying to have preconcieved ideas here. But I'm an out of the box thinker in troubleshooting and I tend to follow a different pattern to other people. My understanding of...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Thanks Teklektik; I'll give that a try today. It isn't like limiting at all it'a complete cutoff.. On another note why doesn't setting the throttle to pass-thru or disabled bypass this problem? It would be great if one of these modes was just a limp home diagnostic type bypass or pass through. So th...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

Well if thats how the slider works then I'm really confused.. When I look in the real time screen the input voltage is there and moves with the throttle just fine but the output does not move. Which makes sense with the dead throttle I'm experiencing. When I watch during a cut off the voltage goes d...

okay I gave that a try I reinstalled the ES version and it's exactly the same I reduced the Wgain to 50 and to 10 but no difference at all. I reinstalled the version you emailed me with gain set to 500 as it defaulted and it works perfectly. The throttle slider on the main display stays at full when...

Re: Alternator Generator (just a biginners effort) from Paki

jusrt a suggestion but; if your trying for three phase to get the best eff. then you should have a ratio of 4 magnets to three coils that will get the magnets in time with the coiul spacing better.if your not concerned about cogging you could try a core for the coils or a metal backer for the coils ...

Re: Tar Sands Oil Extraction - The Dirty Truth (youtube vide

I hate what this is doing to the land. but All these wrong facts and streatching the truth don't help in my opinion. They ve just about stopped the open pit mining now. They use drilling and steam to remove the oil but not the dirt now and the water ratio is closer to 1:1 and new tech will make it a...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

About the voltmeter readings someone reported on... Hitting reset brings up a different voltage for me not much.. but every 2nd time or so the motor blips a bit and the diplayed voltage changes a few tenths of a volt. Sometimes there is no motor blip but the voltage changes a couple of tenths from b...

Re: Cycle Analyst V3 preview and first beta release

The problem with my current sensing has been solved, Thanks to justin's late night and early morning tech support the culprit has been identified. Turns out at some point I must have set the rshunt value close to 9.999 which due to rounding rolled over in the internal register to a number larger tha...
