Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

About 60 hours is the time I spent when I built my 20S14P battery last year and used a spotwelder as Cowardlyduck. Today after about 57 cycles it is still ok and considering that often at night I cover a few km at full speed at about 100km/h (10-11kW) I would say that I can be satisfied with the re...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

If your soldering and using holders then there's hope for me yet.

See how long it lasts you, but I don't think there's many around here that will think soldering 18650's is a good idea, myself included.

Good luck!

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Nicely done Karl.

If you can build these in 12 hours each I may as well give up now. You could be onto a winner if you were willing to sell them.

Maybe I'm too meticulous, but my packs typically take 30-60 hours to make. Hence my pricing that many can't stomach.

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

I tried faster and it nearly killed me a few times when launching off jumps and large humps. I've since toned the rear right down to a medium/slow point which works well enough and doesn't try and kill me. This is for off-road riding mainly though...if I were only on the street like you a faster rea...

The 3d printer model file has been added to the post on the end of the previous page.
Thanks Alan.
This is the solution I wish I had 3 years ago...as well as a 3D printer. If my magnets ever fail me this is what I'll use. :)

Re: Recumbent BikeE for Comfort and Efficiency

Looking good.

I wouldn't bother with any brass or tee nuts personally...too much effort. Why not just design some hex holes for nuts and sit those in it? Nylocks work well.

Are you able to share the design files?

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motors

Yeah, certainly Johns method works also...if you ride like him. aka high speeds, on road where the centrifugal forces can actually do something. In my case I ride predominantly below 50kph and lots of 20-30kph off-road up large/long hills. Not ideal for a hub motor I know, but to make it work withou...

Not sure which file you need to run, but I recall one of them is just an icon file whereas the other actually runs the program.

Convective transfer- I've seen fans in a motor but forget was it sealed? I believe you better ask at this thread: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75494&start=700 Creators of this controller often answer there. Thanks for this suggestion. I did ask and the answer was that it the setting wasn't implemented due to safety concerns....so today I pulled...

Re: Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev! [beta]

Well today I just went ahead and pulled apart my new throttle. I reversed the magnet and now it works with ~1-4.5V like a normal throttle.

I still think it would be a good idea to be able to have a setting in the controller to do this, but I do understand the safety side of it.

Re: Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev! [beta]

For safety this option was disabled :P Is it also hall throttle? Thanks for the response. Yes it is a hall throttle, and I know it's possible to reverse the sensor or swap in a new one, but if the controller can operate with a reverse mode that would be easier. Is it possible to re-enable the featu...

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motors

how much of the heat from the motor could be removed as radiant with black magnet plating and painted motor case. but there's no black just a dark grey at least. I painted the inside of a hub black years ago for this same reason. No idea how effective it's been, but at the time I thought why not......

Re: Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev! [beta]

Hi guy's, I got a Nucular with my LMX64 and so far it's looking like a good controller. After using a number of Adaptto controllers over the last 5 years and them now no longer being available I was wondering if there would be another similarly advanced controller...well I have my answer...hell yes....

How did you do that? I bumped it up to 200A phase, 75A Battery. Is that with the standard battery? Which setting do I have to change? Is there a way to save the original configuration to a PC first? I have no idea about this controller. Is there a method to lock it into mode 1 and only get to mode ...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

So I managed to destroy my throttle trying to modify it to fit a half grip. I have another thumb throttle which I would prefer to use anyway, however the signal is reversed. i.e. it goes from 4.5V down to 0.8V when the throttle is turned instead of the 1V to 4.5V like normal throttles and the stock ...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Welcome comments Don't solder 18650's. Instead layer up the nickel like I did here: https://youtu.be/UeBk4JxM3rw The 7 wide layout has worked well for me on several Stealth frames now...I would not say it's too wide, just needs minimal padding. Otherwise, looks like you've got a good plan, let us k...

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

Thanks Adam. Yes, already had a look in the settings and it is in FOC mode. Should I be able to pin the throttle from 0 rpm and have it just work every time, or is it normal for it to need some forward motion first? Were you also able to let me know about the throttle connector type/pin-out please? ...
