Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Hi Cowardlyduck, I am planning on Ferro fluid and hub sinks for sure :thumb: .... Not sure if you've looked at the Leafmotor specs lately.... https://www.leafbike.com/products/e-bike-hub-motor/48v-52v-1500w-rear-spoke-hub-motor-electric-bike-motor-998.html?VariantsId=10683 This part: -- Update “3mm...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

.... Since I am using a smaller Leafmotor (1500w) I assume they will take the occasional 250W, 20 second burst?? Myself and others pushed our Leaf motors up to 8Kw peak in the past. They can take it, just deal with the heat somehow and your fine. :D I recommend upgrading phase wires, adding Ferro f...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Agree with you 1abv. Unless it comes pre-done from a manufacturer I don't bother with 'water proof' connectors much any more. It's easier to just accept that water WILL get in and the important part is letting it get back out or dry out. JST's are perfect for that and they also allow some level of t...

Re: Giant Revive conversions

Thanks LewTwo. I have thought about rear disc brakes. I will have regen, so I don't need much braking force at all on the rear. I already ordered/have some cantilever brakes so I think I'm going to try and make them work. I'll have to extend the arms and the V of the brake wire, but I think I can ma...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Yep, I can echo what Allex said. It's a PITA setting up most other controllers these day's. If a controller manufacturer actually knows what they are doing they usually only make them for the likes of Bosch, Shimano, Trek, etc. @TV, I didn't get a Kelly, I got a Sabvaton clone....I don't think they ...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

Yeah TV, do what Bigbore says. That's a smart idea.

I have a Nucular 12F on my LMX64 and it is absolutely awesome. Almost all the benefits that the Adaptto had, but without most of it's problems.

Re: Giant Revive conversions

Thanks for jumping over LewTwo! I haven't updated this thread for a while. I already replaced the rear shock. I tried using a much longer DH DNM shock, but it was too stiff to use and tilted the bike forward too far for my liking so I switched over to an old air shock I had lying around from my old ...

Re: E-S Stealth Electric Bike Owners

@TV Depending on how far you want to push things, take a look at the Phaserunner/Frankenrunner controllers from Grin. I have had good success pushing over 3KW through one with only heatsinking it to the frame and because it's a FOC controller runs very efficient. The catch is the only way to get the...

Just drill with the motor above you, so the shavings fall away, and fill with the motor below you so the FF doesn't escape. :)

Re: Leaf / leafmotor / leafbike high efficiency 1500w motor

Thanks Cowardlyduck...I appreciate your input. Could you tell much difference between the acceleration of the Leaf vs the MXUS if you were feeding them the same amperage? My main objective is to get good acceleration from roughly 10 mph to 30 mph...that is why I am asking if there was a noticable d...

Thanks Calab....has anyone tried both a mxus 45h motor and also looked at the construction of the windings? By construction of the windings, I mean how neat, evenly, tight, etc...the windings were wrapped. I have heard the MXUS was not manufactured with as much care as the leaf but I have never see...

@Xtr6, sounds pretty similar to the issue I was just mentioning above. Try clearing all the settings first, then do an auto tune see if that helps.

Re: Giant Revive conversions

I've been following this guy for some time and he has fixed-up a bunch of Revives over the years. Here is his latest electric revive.

I am still slowly working towards my next Revive conversion and have a rear motor in a Fat bike rim and controller on the way.

Your battery was at low voltage for some time, power was limited

ps. welcome to a turtle club
Ok that makes sense.

Yeah my battery is only 14S5P Sanyo GA's, so drawing 50A is right at it's limit and it doesn't like it.

Next time you should include a duck icon for me. :P

Re: E-S LMX 64 Bike Owners

For anyone else looking to upgrade their Nucular equipped LMX64 to the latest firmware, make sure you clear/reset the motor auto-setup when doing it. Can you run 200pA on a 6fet?
I thought that would be 125pA max as a 12f is 250pA and a 24f 500pA
Oops, I meant 12Fet...the LMX64 has the 12f. So I should be safe up to 250A, sounds about what I would have expected.

Can the turtle icon mean that I'm hitting my batteries LVC?

Re: Nucular electronics - complete kit for ev! [beta]

The turtle logo means that the power is reduced because your controller protects against too much use so as not to burn out. You have to go to the status flag to find out if you are overcurrent or overvoltage or overpower... Interesting....did it do this before, but just not show it? In my highest ...
