Re: Mobipus Controllers

Good lord we've jumped the shark.
Haven't checked in and it looks like a bunch of kids squabbling and ranting.

Its a small controller with high power capability.
They use thermal potting. For thermal management.
I suggest you move on son.

Re: A couple more Norcos

About 110 cells easily or 130 with more complex shapes. Couple more ready for blast and paint. Raw aluminium would be kinda cool. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181130/16d38209db542a0a6ac966a94d7c6e00.jpg https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181130/7ea8bc3450af06a0ae42b500bba646f5.jpg https://uplo...

Mobipus Controllers

Exactly Willow. It's not about damaging the unit, its about killing a script kiddie with a 40kw plasma cloud between their legs. Thats why Sevcon take the same restrictive programming approach. The difference between forums is the management of uninformed negative people leaping to hysterics. Facebo...

That's a classic - I didn't know they were rebranded here in oz. Awesome work.

Be careful of those white BMS units - I don't think they balance. Might pay to check the difference voltages from time to time.
Cheers mate!

Re: A couple more Norcos

Says $390 in the shop, what's so special about these? I hope the answer isn't "if you have to ask, it's not for you", like if Yoda himself forged them in his mud hut. Haha those were kmart bikes I did nearly a decade ago. These are pedigree DH bikes with a patented rear end, welded by a quali...

Awesome.

I was thinking of a similar linear setup using carbon conductive spray on sanded copper, instead of nickel plating the copper. Thoughts?

True that Willow.

I spend an awful lot of time on ES facebook these days, and barely ever on here.
I'm now reminded of why. ;)

Re: Mobipus Controllers

Hi all, those prior posts seemed to escalate a bit too quickly and make a lot of assumptions. I think we can all do better. A reminder that these were OEM controllers to rival the difficult-to-program Sevcon. The reason for disabling regen on shipping is simple - so no one with moderate experience e...

Yep. The clients I attract understand the properties of such a frame. When I priced them too low the wrong people asked.

A couple more Norcos

Have done a few of these over the years but haven’t been around much. Using ES FB mostly. Re: Mobipus Controller Official

I’m getting lots of questions about this as several folks who know me know I was about to start selling again. Or at least I thought I was. I partnered with Mobipus originally to get some motors and controllers and to convince them to let me sell to aftermarket. Then there was some private issues wi...

Re: MXUS coming out with a 5K-Turbo motor, 55mm Magnets

Because MXUS burnt us developers who gave them the advice then they tried to sell it back to us at a higher price. Without us they'd still be pushing out V1 crap. Then they started selling them to alibaba vendors who would undercut us on price anyways despite our R&D. And a few group buys stopped us...

Mobipus Controllers

If you speak to him and know a way for Sketch and I to get our controllers repaired and back it’d be appreciated Luke. Its a lot of money for us to lose and I’ve tried every other avenue.

Re: Definitive Tests on the Heating and Cooling of Hub Motor

Thanks Cowardlydyduck, I've read your messages with interest. No doubt fans are a very efficient way to dissipate heat. My questionning these days, though, is how to have a minimum of heat to remove at 14kw nominal / 25 KW peak, by not producing it. This is vital. Find a motor with a decent portion...
