Re: Turnigy 5000 mah 6s 20c any regrets

For what it's worth, I've bought the 20c versions at about an 80% good quality rate. Which I feel rather sucks...but you could consider that in the price difference. I had one pack with the 'missing cell' syndrome (one cell goes to 0v, and overall pack voltage measures 5s for a 6s pack.) I've also h...

Re: Kona Coilair Supreme - MAC 6T Build

Yeah, I love the frame too. The drive side dropout is available from a lot of places (since it's essentially the derailleur hanger), but the brake side one is probably going to be tougher to find. I managed to find one when doing this build, and bought it in case the floating brake didn't work out. ...

Not really, no. Everything is still pretty tight back there. I had a clutch problem a few months ago, removed the motor and checked things out pretty thoroughly. Every thing looked good. No wear at the dropouts, or torque arm either.

Re: There was a fire at my house today while I was not home.

Hey what parts do you need for the ASR-88? You remember I build and repair synths and have some pretty good sources for parts. I loved those ASR's, but haven't seen one in a while. I liked that they were true digital oscillators instead of PCM rompler things that were so popular during that time. Al...

Same thing happened to me Moose...I flew a little too close to the sun with the whole coffee thing. But, places like Sweet Maria's carries a good selection of quality decaf grean beans. You'de be surprised how good they are. And they work very well both cupped, and blended into espresso. So don't gi...

Pretty cool! I came up with something very similar a while back. Got to love that 'validation feeling' when someone else dreams up a similar idea! http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=33963&hilit=throttle&start=15#p494371 But never built it...really didn't need it for my current bikes.

Re: downhill vs freeride bike for ebike conversion?

I built up a Kona Coiler Supreme...which Kona calls a free-ride bike. It'll do close to 40 on flats...and I've had it up to just under 50 going down large hills. At those speeds it doesn't feel like a motorcycle at all...it feels like a shortwheel based bike with a lot of suspension. Brake jack is a...

Looking awesome Moose! Can't wait to see what you come up with. I've been home roasting for over a decade now, and have been ordering from Sweet Maria's about as long. There's really no better source. And as far as freshness...the freshness of green beans is compared in months, not days. Oxidation m...

You inspired me man! Made up some multigrain rolls today....and got two pizza doughs chilling in the fridge for tommorow. Made the multigrains using a 'sponge' technique. About 3/4 of the total batch flour, all the yeast, water, and sugar go in first. Let that sit and rise all day. Then, once its tu...

Re: How do I weed out/group cells to put a pack together?

LiFe might be different, but with the sketchy quality of LiPo from Hobby King, I test every pack on a cell level before building into a parallel group. I do a few things specifically. I first do a light cycle on the pack, maybe charge up to 70% (easily set on the Hyperion 1420) and discharge to 50%....

Re: disconnecting battery from controller or leaving plugged

Like everyone else said, always unplug that batt. But, when you start doing so, you'll now be seeing a spark when you reconnect the batteries (as a result of the caps in your controller quickly charging.) Search on 'pre-charge resistor' to eliminate this sparking.

I know you say you don't want to use PC resources...but if there's one thing Windows does great, it's serving files with little resources. You won't start consuming significant resources unless you setup a video server that transcodes for devices that don't support certain formats. I use this: http:...

Sounds exactly like phase / hall mismatch. I had the same result on a few combos on my 2810. It's why it's suggested to lightly touch the throttle when testing the combos. There's plenty of threads of working combos on this, like this one: http://www.endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=624...
