Re: BBS02 48v 500/750 Same unit?

Same motor, different controller but you can swap the controllers over. For example, my 48v500w controller died and I put a 48v750w controller on it no probs. However, some vendors are selling 48v750w units programmed to 18 amps and marketing them as 500w units (makes sense to me - only have to stoc...

Re: Turnigy Multistar - lightweight 10C cells

Echo Silviasol, for any other lipo consumer device it's a convenient habit as well. Partial discharge storage from last use, charge less than full before next use. Unfortunately even notebook power management doesn't have battery preservation profiles, so little hope of smaller devices having it. S...

Re: Is my LiPo toast?

Have you tried a multimeter on the main wires - what voltage do you see? Often if a charger is set to balance mode, it will only only detect the voltage of the pack by measuring via the balance leads - the negative lead and the last positive lead - in this case 11.79v. If you tried to charge it in n...

MY BBS02 can easily spin out on 20% grades with a 42t front / 42t rear so low RPM's aren't an issue.

The kit arrived today. Pics below. The weight as pictured (without battery etc) was 2050g. Thanks, so about 4.52lbs. I don't see a freewheel in the mix. What kind of resistance do you feel when turning the crank without power? From the GNG website The freewheeling clutch system is integrated in the...

Does anyone have any clues who the manufacturer might be (the connector , not the e-ram). ?
It must be a commercial product, but a really elusive one !

Sorry amigafan2003 I'm not sure how I can to this since the gears are riveted to the cassette. If you have some pics or a link I can see how it is done... sorry, total noob on these since this is my first build. Re: Getting the best chainline with the bbshd

Take one or two of the smaller cogs + spacers out (not adjacent ones if taking two out), put cogs + spacers behind the granny gear. Set low limit screw to stop you using the two redundant cogs.

Now you have # gears = orig number of gears - n cogs removed and granny gear is in better alignment.

Prices updated:-

£230 for wheel/hub + controller + CA V2.3.
£130 for lipo pack.
£350 for kit + battery.

I don't want to go any lower - if they don't go for that then I'll just put it on another bike.

Re: Can I reverse the chainring on BBS02 for positive offset

You can switch the ring round no probs or use washers under the ring with longer ring bolts. Or use a chainring adapter between the ring and the freewheel and chop the arms off the adapter.

I'm not sure of the offset.

Re: BBSHD max power battery

I've run my BBS02 on 15s liipo (charged to 4.1v per cell or 61.5v hot off the charger) for thousands of miles with no ill effect. If the pack voltage is over 62v it throws an error message when power is applied. I think the BBSHD has the same 62v cutoff.

15s works as long as the total pack voltage stays under 62v else you'll get error code 7 "over voltage" shown.

Error code 12 is a current sensor abnormality, so yeah, def sounds like an issue with the controller. Disconnect phase and hall connections and clear them of water as well .

A 48v battery should be about 54v fresh off the charger, so 47.8v after charging doesn't sound right. Sounds like a row of cells has gone down.

Re: Maximum voltage for BBS02 750W ?

62v or higher triggers the high voltage error on the display and the system won't run.

I ran my 48v500w bbs02 on 15s lipo with cells charged to 4.1v no problems.
