Re: Commercial mower conversion. Need help

Here is a video of a person that used the ME 1004 motor on a riding lawn mower. He has a analyst hooked up that shows the various readings he was getting. I think his amps were closer to 30. It spiked to 100 when he turned on the mower.

Re: Q128H 48V800W Advice requested

Yes. That is when it went out, starting up at a stop sign. I have taken it apart, but one screw (the last one) was on so tight that it stripped, so I was going to drill it out, and my drill battery died... I'm not having too much luck with it. I rode my little folder to do volunteer work today (abou...

I have a watt-meter and never really exceeded the specs -- 800 watts. Mostly it was 250 to 500 watts at 48 volts.

Q128H 48V800W Advice requested

I had this Q128H 48V800W rear motor 700c tire http://www.bmsbattery.com/ebike-kits/643-250w350w-q-85100sx-motor-bike-conversion-kit.html on an old Easy Racer Recumbent. I weigh 240 lbs. After 50 miles, the gears gave out. So, I came here and found that others have had similar problem with gears. I d...

Re: Torque-Sensor Motor w/ Sine-Wave Controller Build

Thanks for posting this picture. Quick question (sorry if this is too simple for this forum): How do I connect these wires? Do I connect the LED wires with the motor hall sensor wires and the same color wires coming from the controller? I snipped off the connectors, so I'm trying to get this sorted ...

Re: Using lifepo4 in a petrol car ? Which one ?

Well, I'm no expert. I wanted to do something similar for a RV cabin battery. I built a 80 amp hour battery using these: http://evsource.com/tls_lithium_calb.php I connected 40 amp batteries in a 2p4s configuration. I used the top balancer between the cells: MiniBMS Cell Boards http://evsource.com/t...

Re: Replacing lead batteries with lithium (car and deep cycl

I think there are a number of advantages to going lithium. The voltage is higher, so fans and other electronics seem to run better. The weight is a big factor, and the reduction may help with gas mileage. I had a perfectly good optima battery (AGM): http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00099DW6G/ref=wm...

Re: Replacing lead batteries with lithium (car and deep cycl

Thanks for all the replies! I do appreciate the various inputs... I think I would be inclined to build my own modular battery pack using CALB cells. Although on a different post, I was impressed with the Super Caps too. I plan on living part time in a small van (sprinter) and doing a fair amount of ...

Thanks for the replies. I think they may be a little too much money... but I'm not sure... If they are reliable and get 5000 cycles. An RV is a recreational vehicle... It may be a generational term. I'm getting close to retirement. I have a sprinter van that is converted for long trips. I can carry ...

Replacing lead batteries with lithium (car and deep cycle)

I'm sure some of you have done this... I have a small van. It has a cabin battery. I'd like to change the battery and put a lithium one in there instead. Here is a company making them and advertising 3000 cycles? http://www.lithiumion-batteries.com/index.php Has anyone had dealing with them? Reliabi...

Just an update. I ordered the Blade from Amazon x-large. It came today and it seemed to fit well. I rode around the block. Visibility and comfort were good. I felt well protected. Not bad for $75.

Full Face Helmets -- advice?

I saw a man yesterday that had crashed on an ATV going 10mph. He hit his head against a car bumper and had a depressed skull fracture, orbital (eye socket) fracture, and knee fracture. Lost hearing in R ear too. He told me the last thought he remembers as he was flying in the air, "I'm going to wear...

20 miles round trip... It takes about 8 cents per day to charge the batteries. I average about 22 miles per hour on an ecospeed recumbent (tour easy). It is just as quick to go to work on the bike, about 25 minutes.

Eos says zinc battery recipe is energy game-changer

I just bought a 48 volt Ping battery, but maybe I should have waited... I came across this and can hardly wait to see it: The company says its batteries beat out lithium ion batteries in energy storage and cost. Their trials show over 2,700 cycles with no performance physical degradation in a one th...
