Re: Direct-Drive conversion of the new GNG/cycmotor X1-pro 3000w

the 8M22 will most probably not fit since it will intefere with the frame &/or tire, at least if you dont have a ~170mm rear axle like the LMX. Also it wont be possitble to get the desired reduction ratio with a desirable front pulley tooth count of 20T+, the rear pulley is ~145mm max in diameter, s...

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

yep, this is really the best thing of the "crossbreak" style jackshaft :? still hassling how i do it on this one...a hammerschmidt is quite heavy, but with the right torque sensing BB and a lathe i think hammerschmidt and ISIS torque sensing BB could be married. But that comes last, first i need to ...

Re: Direct-Drive conversion of the new GNG/cycmotor X1-pro 3000w

5-6 mm are fine as the sprocket sits below the caliper. I can ask him how much it may cost to cut adapter and chainwheel. i dont cut the chainwheel. It is a normal 36T signle speed one, i use a shimano zee with 104mm BCD, i paid 15€ for it, I dont think you can make this cheaper by yourself sure we ...

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

we are not talking about PAS, yes 500W is ok for PAS. We are talking about real torque sensing and a well adjusted setup with a torque mode throttle controller. that's a whole different story. unfonrtunataly the X1 wont be able to add those 3kW when using the torque sensing due its high rpm at the c...

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

i dont really care to add some real power/raise efficiency of the motor. For me this is a nice way to control the "throttle" and to train my legs...i mean if i really want those 5kW i have to push really hard. Cant push so hard all the time (the motor cant do this as well) so i wont. Summurized reas...

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

that depends higly on the wheelbase and fork angle. A downhill bike is always a good start for a 3kw+ build. Donttry to put so much power to an XC mountainbike. The X1 is made for downhillers

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

I don't understand people who want a 3KW system as a "pedal assist".[...] me neither, i'd like a 5kW that's just slightly more lightweight  and with real torque sensing bottom bracket combined with a real torque throttle controller, so pedal torque is linearily amplified by a factor of 10

what's the sense of the drive train then? You cant use it to pedal anymore and only use one gear. Sounds senseless to me

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

in simple words: It can do a bit more then the BBSHD, hopefully at the same or even better efficiency. But it can reach higher rpm, which the BBSHD does not. Both BBSHD and the X1 are electric motors and thus have their maximum torque from zero rpm till a certain rpm The BBSHD is about the same size...

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

It should actually have a bit more peak torque at the cranks then the BBSHD. I guess if you push 65A battery current into this motor, then it will have more punch even at normal pedal rpm, but wont be efficient enough to not overheat. It needs high rpm to output the claimed 3000W (remember the BBSHD...

Re: GNG X1-pro 3000w

well spoken

that is the reason why you have no chance to pedal with the motor at nominal power, since the chainring spins way too fast. That is the reason why some want to separate it from the pedal drive https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewt ... 28&t=97479

here is the section view of the disc rotor and rear left hand chainwheel assembly. Plus a second one that is rotated by 90° to the first one there you can see how the assembly is done so that the disc rotor stays exactly in it's originial location, the blue plane is the one that is boltet to the 6-b...

Re: BBSHD Build with GX Eagle 1x12?

if it is possible to install an 8-speed cassette then i'd go for that. The chain will last longer and is much cheaper, so you can have some in spare without spending too much money. Also the 42T chainring from luna is absolutely needed to get a proper chain line and it works better with 8 speed chai...

Re: Direct-Drive conversion of the new GNG/cycmotor X1-pro 3000w

@ Grantmac What diameter of brake disk? 203mm, same dimensions as a magura Storm HC 203 disc, but with 4-bolt 104mm BCD, not the normal 44mm BCD 6-hole pattern. The adapter itself mounts on this 44mm BCD 6hole hub interface to the hub Also does the caliper mount at the same offset? Yes. I can send y...

Re: Direct-Drive conversion of the new GNG/cycmotor X1-pro 3000w

cool, ETA for the bare motor is early February, then i can design and cut the parts. I will add the chain tensioner and controller window then as well. I think i will also try a version that has the motor mounted on the swing arm, for bikes with longer wheelbase this is a better design IMO, since th...

Re: Direct-Drive conversion of the new GNG/cycmotor X1-pro 3000w

The controller is 83mm wide, asking myself where to steal this space without messing up the (both) chainlines maybe it's possible to guide the way back of the motor chain (the return way on the left side, the lower side) so it goes around the controller that then overhangs the left sideplate throug...

Re: Direct-Drive conversion of the new GNG/cycmotor X1-pro 3000w

extended those sheets by 40mm, clearance and looks are much better now. Lengths is something in between the gear and the chain version The issue that the right sheets eats into the pedal chainring bothers me though. The controller is 83mm wide, asking myself where to steel this space without messing...

just some model of the drive, next step is to disassemble and reassemble it with the drive turned around. As i only had some measurements from their homepage to make this model, some dimensions might be off and will be corrected as soon as I've got the drive on my desk 8)
