Re: Direct-Drive conversion of the new GNG/cycmotor X1-pro 3000w

forget whatever the manufacturer is chucking your way, you can probably do better.. better than nucular? That is currently my best bet :? 2k rpm is almost laughable for a chain Of course rpm of a pulley is not a direct design criterea for a chain or belt. Chain/belt speed is one.this chain drive is...

Re: Direct-Drive conversion of the new GNG/cycmotor X1-pro 3000w

one month ago jon from cycmotor told me that my 72V controller will be shipped after 2-4 weeks. Time is over and I dont hear anything anymore. I must admit that i am loosing confidence. At least a 6Fet nucular is finally on its way. Hope it will arrive in 1-2 weeks if someone asks why i dont try to ...

Re: qs 1000w builds

[...]Need a bigger rear chainring cyclone has a 90 tooth doesn’t give enough reduction for a single stage. So easy to ditch one idea for another. Why not use a custom lazer cut one? I mean there is plenty of space, a 400mm or 16 inch dia #219 one with ~160t to 12t would be a 13:1 reduction. I dont ...

Re: Mid drive heat dissipation - water cooling?

if such a motor gets too hot, the reason is it runs at low efficiency. You can add tons of weight for a water cooling to turn your pricey battery energy into heat a bit faster. Or just upgrade to a bigger motor. Cyclone 3000W or LR-Kit, there are quite a few options these days. There are quite a few...

Re: Neatest Mid Mount?

i think a 3-D print with steel inlay would be nice. I am experimenting ATM with nylon prints that have a cavity inside that i fill with lazered stainless steel during printing anyway, for a motor i think that the most feasible way is still just fastening it with some lazered bracket and the bottom b...

Re: Direct-Drive conversion of the new GNG/cycmotor X1-pro 3000w

yeah, cycmotor will offer a rotor with wrapping soon, the final production rotor will be wrapped/equipped with endcaps as stock part. 2k rpm is almost laughable for a chain. Every car engine goes faster and cam shafts are almost exclusively driven by chains these days. In contrast to toothed belts t...

Re: Direct-Drive conversion of the new GNG/cycmotor X1-pro 3000w

the 42t will a) not fit and b) will eat up your battery since it will have much higher eddy and hystherisis loss. You have to spin down to get rid of stator loss. not up. Battery voltage doesnt have noticable effect on this. If you want to go slower to get better wh/km efficiency, then just throttle...

Re: Direct-Drive conversion of the new GNG/cycmotor X1-pro 3000w

still, there is not enough space. I have a tiny 38T laying around that was originally meant for the rear wheel that I could test fit as chain ring. This combined with a Hammerschmidt crank drive could may work. Maybe i find the time on sunday, shouldnt be hard to test as I can simply turn the sidesh...

Re: Direct-Drive conversion of the new GNG/cycmotor X1-pro 3000w

Could you not mount the motor above the BB behind the seat tube? I've been looking for a frame to do exactly that. Hm... :? it indeed looks like in the last picture. I will try! it will most liekely interfere with the right hand chain wheel i guess. A slightly shorter motor would fit though. Edit: ...

Can we use something like this? not sure, if it fits your frame/chainline i'd say yes. Also you have to meet your desired reduction ratio though. Here are some older pics, trying to get the final assembly done, maybe i can make new pic from the pedal side at the weekend or so. ATM i am off since i ...

Re: Direct-Drive conversion of the new GNG/cycmotor X1-pro 3000w

GNG and cyclone are more or less the same company. when i made the thread it was not clear wheather this is a cyclone or a GNG. there is no such thing as a GNG or a cyclone motor. Both GNG and cyclone sell a lot of different motors. In the end one could say that this is another new brand, cycmotor. ...
