Re: Converting a hubmotor to a middrivemotor

interesting... nice find! I think the drone motors are not better or worse than the original BPM. Measure Ri and Kv first, those BPM outrunners are quite bad ass and would be nice drone motors, too

Re: Converting a hubmotor to a middrivemotor

when the bbshd appeared, this thread went out of my sight. the really interesting thing here was the dual jackshaft thing though. Bosch uses this dual drive stuff today even with a planetary drive within the bottom bracket, but not with a powerfull motor so its somehow meaningless. Still its a nice ...

Re: Received 150 NCR18650GA cells from Nkon to California US

I welded over 1000 25r cells, and none of them had higher capacity with higher discharge rate. They are just normal cells. The higher the discharge rate, the lower the capacity, as with any cell types - not only Lithium. There is no more magic in them Some cells actually need higher discharge rates ...

I made a test today. Tungsten electrodes been there too, same story. When welding steel or nickel with Tungsten electrodes, the electrodes weld melt together with the strip. Tungsten not a good heat conductor, so copper is preferred thx for the link to the heaxagonal battery holders BTW http://s.al...

Ok sorry, my mistake. Did not see the first graph Have you tested a 5k in real life ? I'm very curious ! not yet, since my Adaptto died. But from the specs should be at least QS205 level, which is much torqier than the Clyte from what i measured for the QS205 V3: 11.1 kV @ 38.6 mOhm, Km = 4.39 Nm@1...

Re: solder outrunner from DELTA to STAR to get lower KV

does it matter which of the 2 sets of 3 cables you short together? it does not matter which triplet of wires you short and which you use as terminals as long as they are all "starts" or "ends". The trick is to connect the coils in a star topology in the thread there was a link to Lebowski's method ...

as the main problem seems to be flash memory, what is the STM32F031C6T6 advantage of this 32kb chip over the STM8 that also has 32kb as far as i understand? The F103 with 128kb would be the big shot..no?

GREAT WORK BTW :D

as far as i know, there are only few people who still use this setup. the cyclone 3kw kit works the same as a converted geared hub, yet it is wider. the MAC motor that you can buy to date (V4??) is different from the one shown in this thread and may or be not convertable. i can only tell you that the Hammerschimidt has freewheeling abilities in both gears. Anyway, it is quite noisy when not pedaling. I build a middrive with 2kw but the chain did not survive more than a few hundred kilometers. Here is a pic of the drive: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php...

sorry for no progress ATM. the weather is too good to sit in the workshop :D but it will go on as soon as the temperature in the workshop drops. Good news: There will be a better lathe soon, i'll get it from an old gunsmith, it is more precise than the chinese thing i got recently.
