Re: EBike repair/work stand

Most of the work I do on my ebikes, I use the double leg kickstand on the bike to elevate the back wheel off the ground. Main weight is the hub motor in my case. After each ride, I remove the batteries from the bike anyway. I use a couple sets of batteries for all 7 ebikes, since you could only ride...

mountain biker; look here..... http://www.electric-bike-kit.com/hill-topper.aspx all you need is a good bike plus this kit, look at the video, it took me 30 minutes to assemble because I had to get the little fatter axle to the fork. tis was my intro to ebiking and loved it since, got 6 ebikes now, ...

Re: Help finding steel frame disc brake bike

Do you want a rearmotor or a front motor? If you get a front motor, frame can be any of the material, steel, aluminum, etc. Just make sure fork is steel and motor has disc mounts. If said bike doesn't have steel fork with disc tabs, buy a fork that does. such as this... http://www.nashbar.com/bikes/P...

Re: 16 inch front wheel with disc brake

Mudflap5; I take it that you never built a wheel before. I got frustrated when I wanted to get some small wheels built, and bike shop gave me the run around. So I went to utube and looked for a wheel lacing video, the link below I found to be pretty good, the kid made it simple, and I used it to refe...

Re: 16 inch front wheel with disc brake

Mudflap5; why are you ordering a 32 hole hub from ebay, when you have a 28 hole rim(I presume 16") and a 36 hole hub? Why don't you just order a 36 hole rim? http://www.niagaracycle.com/categories/sun-m-14a-rim-16-36h-black with a Sun rim you have a good chance of having the rim diameter in a spoke ...

Re: Brake lights on seat stays (between dropouts and seatpos

this is the brake light I got off ebay couple years ago. It's got horn, turn signal and brake light. I got sick of the horn noise so I silenced it. Not bad for $15. quality is not there. Brake light happens when you squeeze rear brake lever, and there is device hook to the brake calipher and touches...

Re: Who runs a 20" rear hub?

I have a 20" rear 9c motor that I got from grin cycles already radial laced 36H. I installed it in a 24" frame, dropout are no problem, it fits. Only problem is handling the wheel/motor assembly, it is heavy, but workable. I use Sinz 140mm length cranks, does not hit the ground on corners. Accelerat...

well, here is my 2 cents worth. I am 260#, I have 7 ebikes and 8 other kinds of pedal bikes. I have various motors,a couple Bafangs, a couple ebikekit motors, a 9c, a 9c clone(Yescom) from that place in California and a cutie 100. voltage vary from 24v to 72v on the motor, using them as rear drive o...

Re: New and confused want a front hub motor

remember... don't take your battery down to too low per cell. Lipo ...use each cell between 4.1v and 3.7v Lifepo4... a little lower than lipo maybe keep between 3.8 or 3.9v to about 3.3v, I am not sure, it's been a while. Ping is a lifepo4 type. I believe going under voltage/cell will ruin battery a...

Tomjasz; If you are looking for a front wheel drive, that goes between 15-20mph, and is very simple to install. Try the Hill topper from clean Republic. this was my 1st ebike conversion, 3 years ago, since then I have built 5 more for a total of 6, of various designs and confiquation. I still use th...

If this has already been posted, please disregard. I saw on AOL that at the CES, they show an new e-bike coming soon, called a Faraday. Batteries are hidden in the frame and runs an 350 watt motor, price is like $3500, ouch. looks like a normal commuter, front wheel drive. http://techcrunch.com/2014...

Re: Is schwinn corvette cruiser good candidate for an ebike?

My corvette from the 60's doesnt look like that.It looked like a typical schwinn of the 50's & 60's. top of the line then was the Phanthom, like Pee wee Herman. the corvette was a medium weight bike with 1 1/2" tires and mine was a internal 3 speed hub, and hand brakes. If you want disc or v-brakes,...

I have a 24v bafang motor, with a 36v controller and used 24v & 36v sla, then switch to 6s Lifepo3(43v) and again I switch to Lipo 12s2p(48v) and loving it. no modification to motor or controller(50v max).
